Vintage 1958 Pioneer 600 610 Chainsaw 103cc Has Spark | eBay
Well, i ran the P41 saw i purchased from Tedd. it is like 3 saws put together and i honestly still do not know truly what it is. i did a crude measurement on the cylinder and came up with 48 - 49mm. it obviously has P60 top handle and air filter set up. the rear exit muffler and wrap around handle. Is this a Western option? anyway it pulls like crazy and i now have even more respect for Pioneer. it has a 24" pioneer bar/chain but the bearings dissintegrated in the sprocket tip and it broke in two pieces before i could finish the job. Can the sprocket tip be fixed or can i get a new one for it? 3/8 X 058. here is a pic. View attachment 274304IMG-20130119-00175.jpg
It is a replaceable tip bar but those 5 rivit tips may be hard to find. Remove the bar and look at the tail end just ahead of the bar slots there should be some info stamped there. Maybe the manufacturers name might be there.
i have not even used the P50 yet.
Jerry, yes all of the info is there:
507475126
24 NSW 058
82-11
24" X 058 X 3/8 -79 links
3/8 X 8 rim is this
is what is on the bar, i believe it to be a Pioneer bar. the chain says pioneer right on it. can you just replace the sprocket? either one would work for me. that saw surprised me and i have not even used the P50 yet.
Stephen, your P41 is about 5 different saws in one. Not a bad thing by no means. The bar is an original Pioneer. Like Jerry mentioned, the tips can be hard to find. Replacing just the sprocket can be done, but usually not worth the time/effort. I have a couple of those bars in the shop. I'll see in a little bit how close a windsor tip matches up.

Ed, thanks for taking a look, not sure which way to go with this saw now, I would like to fix the 24" bar for sure. I have a few questions. Can I run it with out the sprocket? What is the longest bar that the P41 will handle? Will a Echo 670 bar fit on the P41?.
Question number one-no, the bar needs a tip to be used, the 41 can run up to a 36 but that depends on the type of wood being cut. The Echo 670 takes a D176 mount bar, the 41 takes a D007 and a KO95 can be adapted easily.
I have never seen a Windsor or Oregon bar tip with the five attachment rivet pattern that the Pioneer bars used.
I know it wouldn't be a direct fit, but possibly be able to be modded to fit.
It looks like the closest tip to the Pioneer is the GB. Different rivet configuration, but I believe about 5 minutes with a grinder and drill press... it will work fine. I measured the depth and width of the 1/2 circle and it's almost identical. Plenty close to work with some simple mods.
The Pioneer bar is on the bottom.
Jerry, thank you for the answers, I will be looking for a tip or other bar. Thanks again.
You guys might want to give treemonkey a shout. He was a Pioneer dealer back in the day, and still has some Pioneer stuff. I bought a couple NOS bars the last time I was down there, maybe he's got some tips stashed away.
The latest addition to my collection. It is also the biggest and heaviest.
