Well a couple of weeks ago a package from Danny Henry (dozerdan) arrived and it contained a power ported 372XP sporting a 20" bar and some 72LG. Dan warned me that the saw would not win a beauty contest and he did not disappoint. The saw is a demo that everyone and their brother on the east coast has tried out.
Power Porting is Dan's process for hopping up stock saws(i.e. Walkerizing). He can explain the differences in his process versus others. Since no one on the East Coast on this board has been offering this service I was glad to hear that he has been modifying saws for the last couple of years. Shipping to British Columbia sucks due to cost and down time.
Well anyway he sent this saw and I ran it against my Jonsey 670 with a Walkerized muffler and K/N. Since the 372 has 5 more cc's I expected to lose but I noticed the difference immediately. In the 20" test oak I had dropped the PP372 just sang. Completely buried in red oak and I had to work to keep the saw occupied. The 670 was getting the job done but the 372 was a riot:D
And anything under 16" I COULD NOT slow the saw down no matter what I tried.

Next I let my buddy borrow it for three days in his tree service business. His saw of choice is a stock 046 I almost had him talked into sending to Walkers since it is only a season old. He was very impressed with the PP372 and despite the 5cc disadvantage the 372 outcut the 046 in every test. Myself, my buddy and his old man(Homelite 650 and 750 guy) all agreed there was a distinct difference in the saws. This saw would fit right in between the 046 and 066 if they were stock.

Now keep in mind this is well worn saw and we all know the worst thing one can do to a saw is let everyone and his brother use it. It starts quickly and has loads of compression. Sadly this is my last weekend with it.

If I had to put my impression of the saw into two words they would be PISSED OFF

Thanks Dan
Now its time for a little port work on the 670

Thanks for the posting your test results.Your pictures dont really bring out the true beauty of that saw.It is one ugly critter but it works out very well for its intended purpose.About 90% of the people that I let demo one of my saws, have me do work on there's,the other 10% loved the way that they ran but said that they didn't like the excessive noise that they produce.
A few weeks back,I did make a few posts about my porting process and I posted a few saws for sale on the used forum.
I received a very nice and friendly email from Darin that basically stated that I was in violation of the forum rules and regulations.
As soon as Darin gets his Paypal account set up,I will be a new Sponsor here.
I will post more about my porting process at a later date.
That same saw is going out for Tony Marks for a week or two and after that I think its on it way for Marty at chainsworld,to run some tests with it.
If anyone is seriously interested in testing one of my saws,I do have a few more demos available.

I looked for the old saw ad and I cant find it either.I was informed, since I am classified as a dealer that I needed permission to post that ad.I can only assume the one of the moderators removed it.
I have looked at the rules and regulations about posting on here a few times and I am still a little confused about some issues.I think that posting my email address and phone number is a violation,I cant advertise because I am a classified as a dealer and not a sponsor.I also have no control over other people and if someone else posts information about me,I can only assume that would be ok.
I actually have all the details worked out with Darin about being a sponsor. The only thing that has to be done as of now it my payment.I would gladly do so if he would verify his Paypal account or tell me what email address to use.
I am really sorry that I cant talk much about my saws but I have to be careful about what I say at this time.

Well I can talk about it all I want. Dan you keep your mouth shut. Anyone have any questions that a retard like me can answer?

One thing I would recommend on the saw is a bigger set of dogs. If I owned it a 24" bar and bigger dogs would help, because she was screamin in between bites with the stockers. I tried to keep the saw busy to no avail. I wish I could have tried it on some cottonwood. I have no question it would have clogged the clutch cover with chips in softer "curly fry" type wood.

I will be sad to see it go. You guys know how it is, you seem to develop and attachment to the ugliest saw in your collection:D

Tony you will be seeing it by the end of next week hopefully. Dan sent me your address so everything is set. Just need to sharpen the chain since my buddy tapped his wedge with it:rolleyes:

I know you'll put a razor edge on the chain. Thanks for sharing your impressions on dozerdan's fine saw,I enjoyed every word of it!

Tony is in for a real treat:)

Hi Folks-

I don't any experience with Dozerdan's power ported 372s but I have done business with him on parts trades and I'll you he's first class and great guy to do business with. I've been dealing with several folks from all walks ( timber fallers, arborists, firewood cutters ) and Dan is one of the best on his service and craftsmanship. Anything you buy from him will be quality and he always backs his work 110%.

Huskyman,

Nice Buick! Is it stock? I understand that that six banger would out run a Vette from 0-60 the year the Grand National came out.

Those turbocharged sixes used in the Buick Grand Nationals and GMC Syclones, etc. were killer engines. They really would outrun Corvettes to 60. The Grand National GNX was especially potent, running 0-60 in the low 4's. After 60, however, watch out for the Corvette.

Dan,
Looks like you're doing some nice work there!

I cant believe the shape that you have that saw in.I sent you out a brand new Power Ported 372,new 20" bar and chain, and look at it now.It was bad enough that you beat the saw up but now you are telling us that you are driving steel wedges into the chain.LOL

Huskyman,
Do you have any experience with anyone else's Power tuned saws???
Sure is nice to have new blood in the world of hot saws.
Keeps everyone on their toes.....
Dan Looking forward to having you as sponsor of this fine site.
Perhaps I will send Dan a saw to have Power Ported to see how his work compares to every one else's..

Tim sorry it took me so long to get to your message, I have been away a couple days. No its not stock, I have upgraded the turbo to a TA-49, many chips for different grades of fuel, alcohol injection, and a few other goodies. I am impressed you recognized it from half a wheel:cool:

Doug actually the GN's outran Vettes for the whole 1/4, to about 100, then the aerodynamics swing way into favor of the Vette. The Buick floats off the road around a buck forty
