Not really neccessary to have the Super. That one is more likey to have been used hard and put away wet. The anti-vibe is important though.

agree. the aftermarket kits I see run $100 and are the super bore anyway

34 to 36 would be fun, I think you need the top end, cover, muffler, and maybe a carb (not sure there) off the 036/360. probably left something out

I'll vote for the 038 mag. little pricier, but great saw and baileys has the top ends.
048 would be nice, but they are kinda scarce and hard to find aftermarket parts for

Its back!

I thought I'd resurrect this one because no one, I mean no one, recommended a Husky for rebuild! The 200 series saws were terrific machines, lots of crossover parts between the saws and between some Jonsy saws. Easy to work on, also.

Anybody that has any of these, or the stihls in project state, I'm interested in obtain it. Maybe not the big ones though, don't know what I'd do with a 288.

I have a husky 61 that would be a good project saw. It is pretty complete, but it has a broken gas tank assembly. The piston and cylinder are in nice shape though. PM if interested.

The 61 would be a perfect project saw.... there are lots of tanks around, a couple on EBAY right now, actually. There are quite a number of high performance piston and jug combinations that would make this a whole new saw from a performance standpoint. If you're interested in this saw as a project, I recommend doing a search on this site for rebuild options. There are many!
