Now for some fun I have a vid of the 365xt VS a Stumpbroke 371 I built for Woodchuckr.
In the defense of the 365, this was the first one I have done and I don't think it turned out to bad. The 371 on the other hand is prolly the best one I have built & have had alot of R&D on these. It has a 385 carb & the piston is lighter than an old school 365sp 48mm piston plus a few other tricks that I have learned along the way. I might be able to get more out of the xt's, wich I'll be trying on the 372xt I have here some day. My goal with this one was to do what I knew would work & see how it turned out. Anyways here's the vid. Another thing to mention is that both saws only have around one tank of fuel each run through them.

I'd say you did a great job with the 365xt, only a few seconds behind the 371 and that was your first try with one. It will be primarily wearing a 24" Sugi and sadly only cutting Spruce... No hardwoods here. Should be an animal through the soft stuff! I have a tree already picked out... You done good Stumpy!

I've run the 371... That 365 of yours will outrun anything your wood cutting buddies can throw at it...
Just sayin...

Looks good stump.

Of the three I've done, all of em had a bit flakey idle till they got some run time on em, then settled down. I wish I ha a rhyme or reason as to why, but I never did find out what was up.

Did that one idle ok?

Did u defeat the strato in the carb?

I did on one, and it gained quite a bit. I wanted to try a 385 carb on one, but never did. Maybe the next time...

Thanks Brad. I've been doin good the last week or so. I've had to take some time to re prioritize my life. I haven't been keeping God first & everything has suffered. Now that I've got Him first things are going much better. Now I just got to keep it that way. I believe part of his plan for me is to use these chainsaws as a way to sow His seeds. He's given me a way to reach people all over the world & I have failed miserably at it. I won't be thumpin people on the head with a Bilble or nuthing, just do my best to spread the gospel & let anybody who will listen about what Jesus has done for us.
I'll admit it's not the most conventional way to spread the Word, and not sure why He's chosen me to do it but I'm excited about the mission He has for me.

Amen. Remember, No one can deney what God has done in my/your life. I'll tell anyone my story. i was a mess..( and still am at times... Just ask my wife). We all get off Track, but it is called the narrow path for a reason. You can only follow it with Jesus Christ as the leader of your life.... It's just Tough to give up the reigns...
I love seeing testimony on AS. Guys with CAD need Jesus too!

The port worK is amazing.... Just getting my feet wet in this now and soaking it all up like a sponge.

Stumpy was contemplating doing that but I kind of talked him out of it. Not to say he couldn't do it right or it wouldn't be reliable but I asked him to stick to the basics for this one.

The last one I did, I left it strato as well, for the same reason. The guy is a wood cutter, not a stopwatch clicker. It ran real good anyhow. The last one I did for the mill, I nixed the strato, and it seemed to gain some rpm.

That's the biggest difference between the xt and xp saws. The xt seem to have less rpm, but they make up for it in torque. The usable powerband in the XT is wiiiiide!!

It was a lil wonky on the idle but not bad. It has settled in with a lil run time. I left the carb alone other than thinning the screws. I plan on doing the 372xt that's here with a 385 carb & seeing what happens.

You hit the nail on the head buddy. Giving ourselves up & letting Jesus take over is tough to do for a pridefull wretch such as myself.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that was the same log as the stock XT was run in and same bar and chain??? If so, I have 36.5 seconds stock and 25 seconds ported...
Nice...

You are correct. All the vids are the same log and bar & chain. The stock vid was shot at night with flood lights on.

That's what I came up with too. Any guesses how fast it will go through a 24" spruce round? Something tells me a second or two faster?:hmm3grin2orange:

The only reason I haven't sent m562 off is I can't decide who I would want to do it. There are some real azz wizards on this site for sure. Russ
