bead lock? Look like regular wheels…
Regular bead lock aren’t legal on public roadways, Method Wheels have there proprietary bead lock systems built into the outer rim wall that’s approved for use on public roadways, you can run them down to 4psi without breaking bead, there’s plenty of info on there website and YouTube, They have the most popular selling DOT legal bead lock wheel on the market .

Last two loads from my new best friend's. (Forgot to get a pic in the truck so the collage will have to do - use your imagination @Cowboy254 ).

I thought that would be all for this scrounge, but I was introduced by text to my new best friend's best friend. He lives across the road and asked who was taking the wood. He has a few truck loads apparently as well that he wants gone. And like I expect from any contractor, I say what I do and I do what I say. Meaning that I communicate the plan and execute the plan. Amazing how many can't do that. So... word gets around when you just treat people right. More on Tuesday.

All I can say is, that I'm really glad that when we moved to our "freedom-land" of the U.P. of MI, from the @#$%-hole of IL, I'm very grateful that our freedom didn't cost anywhere near the numbers that everybody has been throwing around.

We got our 40 acres (60-70% wooded), 3K sq.ft. log home, detached large garage, and decent sized pole barn for 325,000. AND that was 50K over the seller's asking price, because we had been outbid on three different homes we were trying to buy in the two years prior. Taxes aren't too bad either compared to what wen were used to.

And the best part of moving here is that you can do pretty much whatever you're man enough to do. As long as your actions don't infringe on anybody else's peace or happiness, nobody bothers you, and let's you do what you want. Which is so nice after being overly "governed" for the last 30 years while trying to earn my living where I needed to be in order to make what I wanted to make. I feel like I had to make a whole lot of compromises for those 30 years in order to get us where we want to be now. And we no longer have to make compromises.
Nice!

Really starting to miss my old truck

I think my current one is going to need a transmission, kinda hesitates when shifting and zero hold back going down hill in 2nd, just goes to idle and picks up speed. And front axle shaft needle bearing is seized on one side, will probably need axle shaft and hub/ wheel bearing assembly. Had to have injector cups changed. Thought I would be money ahead with this truck but not working out that way 🤪. Doesn’t help I’m working with the guy I sold my old truck to and see it every day 😏. Current one does have much better heat and a/c and extended cab doors though😁. I noticed I’m not getting any more offers to buy my pickup, lol.
I miss it too Nate and it wasn't even mine! 🤣

Nice pickup!👍

Bah, been on my truck for years, both in Cali and here in ID, never had issues. Local tire shops balance them fine as long as they have the right adapter…took a while to find one here :p what they looked like new, below :p P8222408.JPGP1140008.JPG

Checked those out, nice but pricey. Probably the equivalent at today's prices, however. Mine are constructed almost exactly the same way as those. 20 bolts on my 15" wheels.
Taller wheels, more bolts...

My average annual income was about 170k between three different species seasons of crabbing. Any where betwen five to eight months total work. All depending on quota, weather, and how good fishing was. No days off during any particular season. Once you step on that boat. Its all hands turning to it! Every day until seasons end and One steps off the deck. My best year was 215k between three different seasons. Brown King Crab, Red King Crab and Opilio Tanner Crab. You folks that dine at red lobster know Opilio or Opie as we call them. As "snow crab"
I will only be fishing for Brown King crab this go-round. I expect to low ball 60k, High ball 80k for two and a half months work.

I hope this answers your questions Pard.

It's a bit like a lucky dip, you don't know what or how much you're going to get. People's definition of 'a few truck loads' can vary. Could be 1.5 cubes of white pine or 3 cord of hedge. Intriguing!

Gonna need many pics of this (including in the truck this time please  )

Land prices continue to rise everywhere. Remote working has become popular since internet access is more widely available. I have a house on an acre and a vacant acre lot beside. The lots are going from 200 grand and up. I paid 12,500 ea in 07. We were lucky to get this place in the country. It's hard to sever lots in farm country in Ontario so there are only so many available.

I told him right away that if it's giant pieces or difficult to access then I would be less interested. He did warn me that it's poplar, but said I can pull the truck right up to it. There are some large pieces with a lot of reasonable stuff too. Call it a partial scrounge if I pass on the less desirable bits.

That is a very nice haul. I used to watch the crab fishing show all the time. That is a very dangerous business. Stay safe out there.

Broke out my portable 100 pound sand blaster yesterday and started on the frame on my pickup. I wish I had the time to tear the whole truck down. I think I can get most of it done as is. One thing I will do is to rustproof inside the frame while I am doing this job. The air vents on the back of my cab need replacing. The rubber flaps are shot. 7 years old and they are falling apart. Tractor Supply is where i picked up my blasting media. It was $13 for a 50 pound bag. I laid down a tarp under my truck to collect as much of the media as possible for reuse. I only spent about an hour blasting it yesterday due to rain coming in. I did get the very back section done. I didn't blast the frame in my driveway. I did it over at the farm where there is a dirt driveway.
