Where did the heat go?? from high 90s to low 60s in two days. That hurricane remnant is to be thanked for it. I'm probably going to be lighting off the first fire of the season this afternoon.
Assumptions will bite one on the fundament. Yesterday ran a small trailer full of rounds to the splitter. Lots of pulling, choking, no choke, etc. Hmmm? Out of gas. No, I just filled it the other day. Just back from finally getting it started by lots of pulling and then checking the gas. Yep bone dry. Then the spindly little (4") mountain ash that died 20 years ago was in the way of extending the rick of split wood. Grabbed 362 and many pullings no fire. It can't be out of gas. I only used it for one small log yesterday. More pulling, check gas. Yep, empty.
I'll be back after finishing here splitting the Horse Chestnut that I finished harvesting last spring and move a wagon load or two to the back porch. I've never worked that type before. Very heavy green, fairly dense dry and splits like a dram on the splitter. I only have one more 15'x6' rick to go to have my winter supply in there and the woodshed. I go through 6-7 cord/yr.
