You would be surprised at what these small welders can weld up. Using multiple passes I have welded up one inch square stock onto 1/2" plate to build a tooth bar for my previous Cub Cadet tractor.
clamped flat, cooled to hand-touch temps... and a grinder... the 2 pcs paint up as one. barely notice a joint. full finish? just one pce steel....

So I went out and looked, it is a weld-pak 155, the manual from Lincoln was from 2010.
I'll obviously need to order the instructional "video".

Bummer it's missing the side panel, it has specs/welder settings on it. It also looks to be missing the pieces to hold the wire spool in place(wing nut and holder). The good thing is it has the mig option which is the gas hookup and gas gun/wire. There are 3 smaller spools of shielded wire(flux-core), .025, .030, and .035. In the manual it says it was set up for .035 from the factory and to run smaller diameter you need to have different tips and the feed roll can be flipped to push the smaller wire and there is a fine adjustment there.
Some of the basic specs.

Long time lurker here, I was able to grab some logs at the neighbors property. Here is a picture of the biggest log I grabbed with my tractor. I could lift it but could not curl it. I carried this back to View attachment 1118139my place about a 1/2 mile. I made 6 trips I have been grabbing some big logs that were piled up om the side of the road and still have a pile to cut up. I am wanting to figure a way to bring my saw with me because I can't secure it. I am hoping someone can point me in a good direction to accomplish this. I see that there are saw scabbards but think the loader frame is too wide to fit one. Thanks for looking. Dave
This is how I haul my stuff works great. Used a couple j bolts to hook to the arms

I just got done splitting another eight wheelbarrow loads (not that it's a competition  ) of 2022 Hedge and 2023 Mulberry that I either removed from the ill fated groundhog rack or acquired this Spring. Actually, I'm just re-splitting it into smaller pieces and stacking it into the new racks. And in the interest of full disclosure (don't want the FSAOS police after me), I'm using a hydraulic device and not the manual method. Lousy pics next:

This is a 12' x 6' high section with the 2022 Hedge in the back row and 20+ year old Hedge in the front row. Still have a 5' x 8' trailer of each to re-split and stack. No where to go with it yet.

This pic is almost 5 rows (8' x 6' high) of older and new Mulberry.

I'll finish the new rack by installing bunks for four more 8' x 6' high racks and will be filled with the remaining 2-3 trailer loads of Mulberry.

A good weld prep with a grinder and those little welders will work mint with gasless flux cored. For fixing and building projects that's all you need. I'm definitely not a welder snob. All I have at home is an old Lincoln tombstone ac/dc stick machine. And I weld for a living. I do enough at work so it's not my hobby. That's why I enjoy the firewood so much.
Those Tombstone welders work great. I bought my first one back in 1972 for $99. I sold probably 8 years ago for $175. This Spring I found a like new AC/DC Tombstone for $50. I have that one next door in the barn with my 100 amp Lincoln mig. My mig over there is using flux core wire. Both of them come in very handy as I can get outside easily with both of them for large fix it projects.

Put the saw on your floor inside the cab. I do that all the time with my Kioti NX4510hst.
@blitzen I've seen a lot of guys start with these https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/countyline-carry-all and built 3pt carry alls out of them. I may do the same at some point. But now I just throw a saw in the cab with me.

There's also this https://bigtoolrack.com/products/ultimate but it'll be a cold day in hell before I spend 2,300.00 for a tractor purse!

@blitzen give us some info on that tractor. What brand/HP is it?

do you think there is any advantage of the 10 mm and 12mm 044s?
Yes, at least some of them! The "red lever" saws were like owning a muscle car from the late 60s! They were some of the strongest running saws out there ... then the EPA stepped in. The 12mm saws were more durable, but the 10 mm saws were lighter, and the ones that did not have problems generally ran stronger.

Mine has never had problems.

Oops...
Discovered today that a 40yr old saw and 50:1 mix are a bad idea...
Jonny 670.
Cyl is ok, just some transfer. Piston and ring? Not do much...
I was helping a guy with his saws and some cutting...didn't know he'd used that mix ratio. Ear tuned in the cut...turned out way too lean. Oops...
