You are absolutely right about some equipment not being built for heavy work. I recall looking at a New Holland 30hp?? tractor before I bought my Kioti. The center section of the tractor was so inferior looking for the size of the machine. Based on looks only the Mahindra was by far the heaviest tractor of all the ones I looked at. The 3pth area was definetly the most rugged looking between 4 different tractor brands. Kioti says not to use a 3pth backhoe on my tractor without a subframe. They claim it will break the 3pth.
I've read MANY horror stories about ALL brands of tractors breaking when using 3pt non-subframe mounted backhoes.

i talked to a tractor dealer. we looked at JD's... he showed me 3, all 30 hp... and all had dif sized/thickness/design frames...

one for the DIY weekender... and one for the 24/7 ag/construction use. i am thinking non of the 500 hp models have light duty frames! lol ;)

Now you've made me wonder.... gonna have to get my Google fu on.
They take a bit of fussing with and quite a few rounds till they run smooth. Pains of "making" your own.

Exactly. Alot of trial and error. My first two builds having just a fte issue is not too bad at all. Extractor or recoil spring but also the breech will not take an empty case telling me it may be out of spec too.

City friend had a dead ash borer tree dropped by pros,
KIMG4834.JPG
we went and blocked it up for the firewood, moved the brush to curb for city pick up, everyone is happy now.
Two women loaded in the trailer faster than I could block, split and noodle for carrying.

prolly two face cord.

Got about a 1/3 of it split and stacked before rain started so left the rest in the trailer for later.

Sorry if I ruined your black panther part ay lol.

When I was in the backcountry of Glacier NP, I was always focused and well aware of my surroundings, even thoe the bears will sense you well before you do , but having a keen sense surroundings is always important , especially in bear county,
That's good thinking right there.
Many plan where they are going to be buried, few plan for where they will die  .
Now I understand the purpose of situational awareness .

So the pros like a little dutchman up that way :innocent:.
If I didn't already have an awesome NW Ohioan wife, I think I might have to head up your way :numberone: .

There are a few companies I don't normally support, but I do what I can to get one over on them, or buy their loss leaders(but nothing else ).
Here's a deal I found listed by one of them. I missed it the last time, but managed to get two boxes this time, I may grab two more just because.
Edit; two days ago when I ordered them, there were like 540 available, now theres 193, one less than when I took the screenshot, soon to be 191 as I'm gonna snag another couple up just because lol. If anyone knows of them cheaper, let me know. For a $1 a pair, it's a hard deal to beat.
I really like these gloves, they fit me quite well and keep your hands nice and clean for the ladies too ;).
They also wear very well, I get many uses out of them, although sometimes I will just trash them if they get covered in grease or pitch and I don't feel like cleaning them (I usually do this with a pair I've previously worn quite a few times. Since I've been at this job, I've only used two pair of them in the truck, been there nearly a yr now. The first pair I left on the step :dumb:, and the second I'm still using, and they could be replaced anytime, but they still work. I unload about 50 pallets a week by hand, and they keep my hands nice and clean so I don't get the steering wheel in the truck dirty.
Anyway.

And it seems a lot of people like to buy the gloves below with them, and the traffic master derbent grey accent rug 🧐, yeah I believe that. That's how they get yeah, you come for the gloves, and then your wife buys a rug :envy:. Just buy some gloves when your online guys:lol:.

seen -15 last december during a freak storm
-15 isn’t too bad

Last year I went up to Mustang Mikes camp at the end of January “coyote” hunting. It was -24 the next morning and the only machine that would start was my 1998 fourtrax 300, none of the new stuff even wanted to try!!

The high of the day was almost -10

Needless to say, we fed the old barrel stove like guy’s feeding a locomotive

Fixed it for ya.
I think that's the same type of thermometer we had when I was growing up, back when you had to walk uphill to school both ways, it always said it was below zero ;).

You ask @MustangMike, that thermometer has been on the money since 1994!

It was so cold out there, you’d tinker on a machine for a minute and your chest would start to hurt from the cold air!

I had to take the generator, point the exhaust at the engine block of the SxS and wrap it in a tarp for 30 min just to get it to start!!

I don't doubt for a min it's right on, just razzing ya, it's easy with you New Yorkers . One of my best friends is from NY, I know well, then again, he can handle it and give it back, great guy for sure. We talked for a good bit today, he just bought a 550xpg mk1 and a 550 mk2 and is likely buying a 572 soon, he's already got way more saws than one guy needs, must be a NY thing:popcorn2:.
I don't enjoy working outside when it's that cold, but at least the humidity is low lol. It doesn't really get that cold here, especially with the milder winters as Lake Michigan never gets anywhere near freezing over, which keeps the cold air from coming down from @svk part of the country.
I've put a chunk of hose on the car exhaust many times to warm up the splitter or a quad, a country boy can survive:cheers:.

I got a great sense of humor, helps me get through the day. I deal with upset people all day long. Haven’t been able to get parts to fix customers cars for weeks now. Can’t wait for the UAW strike to be resolved!!!

In saw and woodstove news. No fire tonight, boss lady says not necessary
