Took my best buddy out last night

He caught the first on his first cast. I caught the second on my first cast.
Poor fella didn’t get another fish in the boat. I lost count how many I landed
Yes, I went out and bought a replacement of my favorite lure, it worked like magic!!
Then treated him to dinner

I had a leaking hose on my zero turn mower. The brand is obsolete and parts are hard to get. I know little about hydraulics and did a quick search online with lawnmower hoses running in the $25-$40 price range. Since I didn't know what to order, I had one made at the only local hydraulic store, an auto/tractor parts store. The hose measuring 20" overall ran almost $75! I feel a little violated. :surprised3: In their defense, the parts and hose are Gates brand and not some ex-US junk. Now, at least I have a parts list for next time.

It's nice to have a local place to throw a hose together. $75 seems about right.

That wasn't a bad price, and likely much higher quality then the oe hose.

We build hydraulic hoses in house for our fleet and I do most of the purchasing. You've got $50-$60 bucks into the materials alone, so $75 is quite fair.

Man, ypu guys are getting ripped off big time! Our "service fee" is calculated off how much electric you use. I've never seen one lower then $35.00 month though. Always thought that was a rip off for not using any electric.
Count your blessings!
Think she will notice if I put these in the hamper ?View attachment 1181179View attachment 1181180

Supper time here,

Asparagus, onions, potatoes, carrots and garlic along with some spices all sauteed in CI,

Nice
Looks good. I have the very same outboard sitting in my garage. Mine is a '68 or '69 I seem to recall. It was having fuel delivery issues and between working on the carb and the fuel pump I never did get it back to running just right. I ended up getting a bigger boat so there it sits. One of those projects where the time and the inclination never seem to line up.
This one is a 74' or at least the hood it. I never checked the vin tag.
Kind of a waste of a good boat and motor isn't it?
The boat is beat to heck you just cannot see the damage from that angle. I bought it for $50 for this purpose. The motor has a myriad of issues. The lower unit was donated to a different motor. The housing is cracked (must've been dropped from substantial height prior to me owning it. The motor also had a mild fire under the hood. So about the only thing on it that is salvageable is the hood, powerhead and fuel pump.
It's a little too busy/commercialized for me. It's beautiful though. I prefer the Fort Morgan, AL vibe. More laid back, less traffic. I definitely would come back to Destin. It's waaaaay better than Orlando and Miami.
Destin is WAY more commercialized that it was when I first lived there. Still much better than further south in FL though. I liked the mexico beach area but haven't been back there since that hurricane wiped them out a few years back.

I figured there was major damage to boat and motor.

Took my son for the proverbial $100 Hamburger yetsterday. I'm working on my IFR rating and so I flew a couple of instrument approaches on the way to Decorah, IA
The plane I rent is fuel injected and doesn't need to be primed when it's warm. It was frustrating (AND embarassing) as we had stopped mid-way to fill up with 100 LL, went to restart and had to crank and crank.. And crank to get the engine to kick over.

Hammer handles!
Lots of fun but slimy bastards.
When we were kids, we'd go out in the morning and catch a half-dozen or so, clean them before breakfast and have their livers with scrambled eggs.

Putting up a shed this weekend . Got the deck done . The rest is one of those Lifetime plastic units so just bolting it together . If I was building with all wood I would have put a vapor barrier down View attachment 1184325View attachment 1184321View attachment 1184322View attachment 1184323View attachment 1184324
You just rock the posts in? I'm thinking of rocking in piers (and capping with concrete) to let my 6x6s lie on. Really don't want to pour the whole hole.
