I have several Mulberry trees; I really like the berries and always pick and eat quite a few of them each year.Another rainy day here today so it was time for mulberry crisp. Used the pan I got a while back from svk.
Gonna be mid to high 90’s this week, that’s gonna be nasty ,Was beyond hot and sweaty bringing these home today

Yup 3 ft down . I’ll be adding duck bill anchors to hold it down in case of strong windYou just rock the posts in? I'm thinking of rocking in piers (and capping with concrete) to let my 6x6s lie on. Really don't want to pour the whole hole.
When I was a kid in the '70s I used to go to a road side informal shooting range just before deer season opened. My whole reason for going was to help guy sight in their guns... and to shoot a wide variety of guns on someone else's dime! There was no bench to shoot off. Rather there were boulders upon which you laid across or steadied yourself next to. It was astounding what guys were hunting with and how little they understood about the guns and sighting in. Of course there were a fair number of "bigger is better" guys who were basically afraid of pulling the trigger (squeezing seemed to be a foreign concept). Some of those big bore guns with steel/brass, curved, butt plates were unpleasant but it didn't stop me! At that point I didn't understand that the tightly curved (crescent) butt plates on smaller bore guns were not intended to be fired from the shoulder per se. Rather they were intended to be fired with the butt between the bicep and shoulder from an off-hand position. It would have been helpful to know that then.Only loaded 3 to see how it groups. If it is good, we will load more and sight it in.
If not, we will try a different load!
I think my Nephew sent this gun (and his dies) over to me just to punish my shoulder! Launching a 300-grain bullet at 2,200+ FPS with a steel butt plate should wake you up pretty good!
As if my 348 launching a 250 grain bullet at 2,200+FPS wasn't stout enough! (Actually, with my slip-on recoil pad, it is not bad at all).
Ah yes... fermented mulberries! There is a mulberry tree at my parents' home that attracts lots of wildlife. Deer, ducks, squirrels, woodchucks... The woodchucks, like the squirrels, climb the tree and go way out on the branches to get berries. What is very amusing is when there is a heavy crop and fermented berries are on the ground... drunk woodchucks! The odor of fermented berries is very pronounced for a few days and then it's all over for the season. That tree is not very big due to shallow soil and it has been declining. I've been pruning off big dead branches for about 10 years now and one whole side is dead now... it probably should be taken down but it would do no harm if it falls so I'm leaving it for the wildlife.I put mulberries on my cereal as long as they are around, but the best use is making mulberry liqueur . I pick and clean them, put them in a container in the freezer until I have about a gallon, then transfer them to a large glass pickle jar, cover with vodka and keep adding berries and vodka until it’s full, store in a cool place until Thanksgiving , when I pour the liquor off. Sometimes I crush the berries when I start, sometimes at the end as a second batch , depends on my mood . If the berries are really sweet, I don’t add any sweetener, but if I need to I will add a little honey Makes a very smooth, unusual flavored liqueur.ENJOY.
