Pulled apart an 026 I got a couple years ago. Top end is fried, which isn't a big deal. Then I pulled the cylinder off, and found the crank is trashed to. Saw looks like it had water inside of it, or it was straight gassed. Now I'm on the fence of what I should do with it. Basically it needs a 100% rebuild. Top end, cylinder, crank, crank bearings, seals, ect. I'm just not sure if it's cost effective to even rebuild it. What would you guys do? Rebuild it? Or sell it off as parts?

ya I really like the 026 but for the amount of money it would take to fix it your better off getting a different one. you should be able to get a good one under 200 bucks easy

I understand its not cost effective. Part of me wants to rebuild it. Another part of me wants to chuck it in the trash. I really have no use for it. I have x3 good running ms290s, 194t, 088, 009, and a 461 and 200t that both need to be rebuilt also.
If anyone is interested in the 026 I would sell it.
Or does anyone have a good used crank for a 026 they want to sell?

if your cylinder can be cleaned up and reused then I'd consider it but otherwise I wouldn't. I've tired 5 different aftermarket cylinders for the 026 and they all had different problems no where near as good as the OEM and I like china saws I own a couple.

aftermarket crank would be fine, I would go oem bearings and seals but you could use aftermarket there to and be fine as the bearings in the 026 are over built for the application.

I have 2 brand new oem pistons in both bore sizes, I could send them to you but I don't know how much the shipping would be. Pm me if you want me to look into it.
