Stihl Looking For the 056 magnum cylinder

Just thought I'd refresh the request. Need an 056 (56mm)cylinder. I'd be interested in an oem set (Piston&Cylinder) or just the cylinder. or an after market set or cylinder. I have a piston now but I've heard that the after market pistons run sloppy. Not exactly the same as the oems. If anyone has any information related to this subject. I'm all ears. Thx.

Aftermarket is often "not exactly the same as OEM." I would suggest starting another thread on the 056 top end stuff in the forum. There is alot of knowledge of those here. I will tell you that OEM mag pistons are getting VERY rare, and everyone wants them. One of the Stihl distributors, not too long ago, still had a few complete top ends at around $300. How bad do you want it?

Does anyone have a blown 460bb top end in the scrap bin? I FINALLY (thanks L.P.) found my replacement 440 crankcases. Since they're apart anyway. I'd like to clearance them for the 460BB top end. I really don't care how scrapped the jug is, I just need the base flange for the dimensions.

I'm not going to go BB just yet, as I have the mint OEM 440 (Mahle) top end ready to go. Plus I want to establish a baseline to see how much extra I get with the 460bb top.

Couple saws up for grabs...they just are the wrong color orange. Looking for a 7900, 254xp, Partner 5000 plus, Partner 7000, cash works too.

290 w/ 029 clutch cover/brake handle and top loop handle

Both saws are pretty clean w/ 16" bars in good shape, run and oil as they should. 026 has the non adjustable carb. The 290 was a basket case (ran over w/ a backhoe) turns out all it needed was clutch cover, top handle and brake handle, the 290 does have a small piece broken out of the top cover that I didn't replace, saw has very low hours clutch cover shows wear b/c it's a replacement.
