Stihl looking for a brake handle for an 084 and av mounts for an 056 magnum full wrap handle.
Got stuff to swap.
I need a flywheel for a Stihl 028 Wood Boss with the breaker setup. Didn't realize I can't set the points with a special tool or a flywheel to cut apart. A damaged one is fine as I need to cut the center boss out. I have leftover parts from many of the saws in my "runners" list, or $
You can put a standard 1300 coil on the 028 with the point type flywheel and be done with those points. It'll run perfect.
Don't you need the SEM module then or is it in the coil?
What's the AV mount's Part#'s you need? I can look.
You don't need anything but the coil. I remove the flywheel and take the points out, and rewire the kill switch....that's it.
You could just cut the wires off and leave the points but that's sloppy to me.
Anyone need any Craftsman 3.7 (Poulan 3700) parts? Picked one up recently for a little of nothing. Saws in bad shape but has allot of usable parts. Z

I don't know the numbers Will, I don't have an IPL for that saw. I believe 045's are the same.
Ok, I think I can figure it out, I was just being lazy and didn't want to look it up.
I believe the parts that Ed needs are: 1115 790 9601 - drive-case side annular buffer
1115 790 9901 - handle stabilizing ring
I know you are on the road to eliminate the points now but I have an idea that should work for blind point setting. Get out your calipers and measure the widest point on the inside of the flywheel. This is the lob and should be max point opening. Find something that is this thickness and put it between the crankshaft and the point follower. Set the points to the recommended opening and you should be good to go. No special tool and no modified flywheel.
If this is wrong somebody go ahead and throw me under the bus, but think it out because I don't think this is wrong. Mike

I'm on the lookout for a very strong running yet fuel efficient saw. Also the anti vib must be firm but still easy on the operator. Easy starting is also a must at my age. If anyone has such a saw to give away please contact me. :msp_biggrin:
