Note that the 'baffle' outlet is marginally larger than the exhaust port. Also note that some of the exhaust pulse will hit the baffle on an angle and bounce back..

I cannot see below the exhaust port without removing the baffle but my finger can feel that there may be something there.

1439355499761.jpg A slightly better pic of the port.

On as close as an inspection I could do by eye, it has the same shape, it looks the same as yours Vince you posted in the photo above.

looks dry as a nun's nasty ! although size wise it doesnt look restrictive; but every time the exhaust gases have to change direction it does slow it down ( restrictive but maybe splitting hairs) IMHO
I think your right mate but I only have let it idle for a minute and ran it flat out for 5 seconds....it was 4 stroking flat out but I suspect it is on the lean side instead of the rich side....but I'm not sure...i am currently running Stihl HP ultra at 40:1

yeah general shape will be the same.. from what i have read, the port is made wider at the piston side by a few mm and the top and bottom of the port just tweaked a mm for port timing.
will have to get out ya trusty FatMax 8m tape measure and compare sizes.

i think i will bump up my next batch to 30:1 . like i said what i have in my 461 could be less than 25:1 being heavy handed with the mix.

Ummm, yeah....did the fire brigade come last time you ran it for a while?

Would be surprised if you haven't fouled your plug pretty bad too.

I've got to get this limiter off this H screw and tune it properly so I know it's not on the lean side....can I motor 4 stroke running lean?

I'm guessing with this saw it can because the rev limiter kicks in at 13500 and I reckon that will make it sound like it's 4 stroking even when it's as lean as, but I'm just taking a wild guess at this...I don't know.

lol naa mobil 1 hardly smokes at all.well on start up it does smoke, but once warm runs fantastic.
$45 bucks and can get a tach to u. doesnt need to me mounted on the saw.. just put it on the plug lead on ya saws for tuning.

I might use the tacho once a year....probably should tune more often, might have to with the limiter removed...no idea if the vibration from the saw will rattle the jet around but that's what it's there for.

standard they have a limited coil. so you could be real lean but it wont over rev... can still have a meltdown. i would have thought you would tweak it a bit between summer and winter at least.
