Some people call it a baffle, but I don't think it is. It is in no way restrictive.

It appears to me that it is for harmonics/resonance but I'm no expert on that and I could be totally wrong.

It been reported that the saw performs better with it than without it.

in your photo the bit you are calling a baffe dose not look like any baffe iv ever seen but to me it dose look like a spimplified resonator the shape and size seems to be about the right size to bounce the fule and air mix back in to the motor if you remove that you may loose top end hp.

That's exactly what it looks like to me.

any one got some suggestions for chain breakers and spinners?

I've got a small one that you stick a spanner on one end to turn it. I carry it when I go trail bike riding. It's only just strong enough to punch the pins on my bike chain but will do a chainsaw chain easy as. I've used it often.

Will have to dig it out. Will take a pic for you tomorrow.

Lol I got lured over to the other dark side and bought a husky

There s nothing ''Dark'' about owning a Husqvarna, they are nice and shiny when new just like a Stihl.
Just pull that chord thingy a couple times, you will be amaized with the response of that saw.:)

Any one want some of the gb ti bars from left coast supplies, if it's a better deal than local, I'm thinking of getting some of the do25 in .404, 20"$22/24"$27/32"$36usd + SHIPPING
There is a TI d009 3/8 32"there as well

They are super cheap Jimbo, how do you get an account, it only has US for particulars when you start to set one up. ?

I'd get a couple of 25" 404's x .063.

I had another look thru his site, has them separate round $145 all up.

Mine works well, rolls the joiner rivets over very nicely.

how hard to kit up to do this or just send them to you

It is a bit of mucking around.

- Large tub (200lt minimum)
- Film
- Scuff stuff
- Automotive paint's, thinners, hardner etc
- Proper Spray gun
- Activator
- Clear coat
- Heat element (for correct water temp)

And its the same amount of prep as you would do painting a car panel, but smaller obviously.

Having said that, i wouldn't mind knocking a few out for people.
