your days work is one of my child hood dreams, when i was about 15 i'd wag school and ride my bike from Beaumaris to Canterbury Bayswater and look at the new Kenworths though the fence wire dreaming of buying one then go to factory office and ask for brochures ride home and read them back to back deciding on what power plant be best for my truck i always settle on a 8v 92t Detroit

Strangely enough, I started my driving career in an 81 model cab over kenworth, which had the 8v 92t in it.
Nothing like the roar of a 2stroke GM!!!
It was owned by Bob Alcorn from Kyogle NSW, trading as Kyogle Grain Supplies.
It had an 18 speed road ranger in it , riding on torsion bar suspension.
She used to buck a bit, but by Jesus you could throw it into the corners down the Gibraltar Range, and we're confident she'd come out the other side still standing up. :)..... The good Ol days!

Apart from 30+ years of bar oil and saw dust it's in reasonable condition. A fresh carby kit and coil is on it. But could do with another handle. Was dropped on it head at one stage.
There is some interesting sealant in the tank. Maybe when it was dropped it cracked the casting.
Will suss it out in due course. Got a few saws to do before I can get stuck into this one.

Has anyone here had experience with both standard and CM 441's?
I just got my standard back from modification, took them out, same bar, same chain, but VERY different results.
Just wondering if in standard form there is a big margin between the two as a normal?

Thanks

One of our old skidders had a 2t Detroit v6 man what a sweet sounding engine! I will never forget that sound... Who doesn't remember the old Greyhound buses (With your sweetheart onboard off to visit her oldies to tell em how great of a man she has met!, never to be seen again! haha ) pulling out onto the open road how could one not be impressed!....

What revs is that pulling ?

Ok. So a 441 non cm v's 441 cm. ?
Which one is better ?

The cm, by miles.
Internally they are the same saw, and I can't see why a computer management system would give such a huge advantage of a manual adjustable???
Im wondering if its all in the port work?
