I agree on the trailer though. The only time I've ever had a hitch pop off is when I haven't checked it myself.
An opposition company had a 10' x 6' tandem trailer pop off one of their utes doing 110kph last year and belt across the opposite lane into some mallee. Luckily no other vehicles were around but it did $5,000 damage to their trailer and wrecked a bit of scrub. Bloody lucky and also very lucky it was unloaded. The guy did 60km with 2.8 tonne of liquid fertiliser on it (2 x 1000L shuttles) without it being locked on properly and it fell off on the way back. The chain snapped too when it let go.
