SUMMERS' WINTER OF DISCONTENT

LARRY PICKERING 57 MINUTES AGO

The worst of radical womanhood is to set to have a meaningful role in this year's election.

I had never heard of a person called Ann Summers (not sure Ann is with or without an "e" and I couldn't care less really) until she said somewhere that my scribblings were responsible for Jill Meagher's murder.

So, I decided to Google this Summers woman to find out what other garbage she promotes.

The first Anne Summers I came across was a UK company promoting #### and sex toys. I guessed that wasn't her, so, where was I likely to find these type of despicable views?

Ah, I know, I'll try that ABC site "The Drum". They would love this sort of thing. Sure enough there she was with lashings of iridescent red lipstick attempting to imply hormonal arousal.

And much more of the same delusional drivel... I simply couldn't bring myself to read it closely but I did notice that Abbott was a misogynistic "Neanderthal" and that Julia was an enlightened lovely person of courage all women could be proud of.

There was also something about Peta Credlin's lack of judgment in using Tony Abbott's office fridge to store her IVF injections. And a bit about Summers' own abortion and that Right to Lifers couldn't be feminists.

Julia Gillard has certainly emboldened the crazies.

This Summers woman is obviously a bitter, twisted little Vegemite with a ton of baggage but she's an adored darling of loony tunes Leftists like Christine Milne and Lee Rhiannon.

These two Green gophers are Summers' fans and were unsurprisingly congratulating some idiot who had fraudulently wiped $314 million off the value of Whitehaven's mining shares on the ASX.

''Congrats to Jonathan Moylan, Frontline Action on Coal, for exposing ANZ investment in coalmines,'' Ms Rhiannon tweeted last night.

''...part of a long and proud history of civil disobedience, potentially breaking the law, to highlight something wrong'', Christine Milne noted.

Blimey! These people are governing us and Julia Gillard noticeably didn't distance herself from her colleagues' views.

Then again Gillard has always been quite tolerant of her own illegalities.

Then there was Plibersek's convicted drug-smuggling husband lands top job. Bob Brown joins Sea Shepherd's illegal activities. Slipper charged. Former ALP President Williamson on $20 million fraud charges. ALP's Obied and MacDonald on $100 million fraud charges. Craig Thomson? ...nearly forgot about him. Attorney General Roxon perverting the course of justice. ALP's Orkopoulos, 33 counts of child sex and drug charges. ALP's D'Arcy, 11 years, child sex. Rose, extortion, 18 months. Nuttall, corruption, 15 years. Theophanous, bribery, 6 years. Martin, underage sex. Parker, perjury. Hirsh, Soyurek and others, multiple drink driving.

That's just a few... and all ALP luminaries. Even the PM and her boyfriend are likely to face $2 million fraud charges later this year.

Who the hell is governing us while this feminist handbag brigade pushes the diversion of Abbott's misogynistic wall punching?

This Summers woman has her prune-like ovaries in a knot over anything and everything but to the "ladies" of this Parliament she is a breath of diversionary fresh air.

Don't look too closely at this unrepresentative group of Parliamentary females. It's not pretty in focus.

Give me a normal decent woman from a list of the vast majority. A yummy one who isn't destructively confused by her own sexuality like Summers.

An intelligent one who smells nice and doesn't reside in a political sewer.

TREE HUGGERS SLOW LEARNERS

LARRY PICKERING

The longer we can prevent a bushfire, the greater the eventual bushfire.

I will always remember the Victorian father searching for photos of his dead wife and kids among the ashes, wondering how he was going to pay the $30,000 fine administered to him by a Green council for daring to attempt to clear his property of combustible material.

The Australian bush is a dangerous place. People die and property is destroyed as a result of our passion for rustic living.

The sound of bellbirds and the bucolic smells of the bush are irresistible. The trouble is we shouldn't be there. It is an ancient, foreign place to the modern, urban person.

Bushfires will happen, whether lightning starts them, Aborigines start them, arsonists or God starts them.

Every 10 -15 years combustible undergrowth builds to a point where it becomes a tinderbox begging to be ignited... and eventually it will ignite despite our efforts to prevent it.

Only then can the natural regeneration of the bush begin.

We drag bodies from these regular fires while hunting suspected arsonists. But arsonists may have done us a favour because, if left uncleared another year, the damage in life and property would have been far greater.

Millions of hectares of Australian bush burn annually but that matters only when we and our belongings are in the way. The natural order of the bush won't make an exception because we build a house in its path.

The Greens lobby against the clear-felling of trees around homes and they win. They overtake councils. Their arrogance is breathtaking. Their lack of understanding of the bush is confounding and at the cost of countless lives.

A Green gopher like the Tasmanian hare-brained Bob Brown, doesn't understand the bush; he just likes to live in it.

Flammable seeds from gaseous eucalypts, desperate to regenerate, lie dormant waiting, waiting. It is the inevitable fire's intense heat that breaks open these rich, pregnant pods and allows our bush to regenerate, to live.

Return to a black landscape in a few months' time and the fire's purpose will be clear. It is an essential part of the health of our bush.

And the Green gophers still don't get it... their memories are too short, their vision of reality too limited. Their influence too dangerous.

QUOTE=lumberjackau;4072092]I don't believe it was a cahoon saw Neil, from memory it is a D&N Motorsports made saw, been fixed up a bit since Brad has owned it though, if Dennis is lurking around he might be able to provide some more info and correct me if I am wrong

You going to stanthorpe this year? Finally got my noms away today for it, now to pull up on the fishing for a bit and get busy on some saws and chains, nothing has been run since oct.

yes i'm off to standthorpe, 1st run for me this year, i enjoy that show.

rode one was nuts i used about half the power n gears we broke the crank case side later kicking the crap outta it to start it had to tow it home from 3 gullys away

I couldn't afford any big bore enduroes, but i had a lot of fun on my IT175

speeking trail bikes, i was talking to our local suzuki dealer over christmas, he was telling me how things have got tuff in the bike trade and why the expence has become so high buying new ones.
He said years back,,, when the suzuki ER185 first was released in the 80's he put a couple out the front of his shop, he had some inquiries and sold both by week end, then sold 7 (took orders for) in the hastings hotel on saturday afternoon after his shop was shut. He said thats how they sold, basicly word of mouth and everyone wanted to get one as they were affordable. He also said they were easy to get for customers with no waiting which also helped sales.
