I was back at the neighbours to drop the large pine in the front yard , used a winch to make sure it landed in the right place, did the limbing with a husky 359.
I went home and grabbed my oly 999 for the bigger wood, It runs like an absolute beast since I disabled the governor, damn thing was cutting in too early.

Is that the governor in the carb looks like a big brass screw ? I have had this before and have just soldered up the end of the screw works a treat

How could Kiwi's possibly display any reduction in cognitive function after exposure to 2-stroke fumes?

No excuses Tony. We have enough of you guys over here already without having to deal with you online as well :D
Been cutting much mate? How's the 241?

It's a brass screw with a spring and ball bearing, I just blocked the hole with a disc cut from gasket paper, works a treat.

was involved with this but at a distance was a bloody big fig dismantled by crane the tree team they seemed to work real well given the size of the task What to do with 20 tons of crap sap fig wood? Answer dump it in 2x 30 m3 bin chip in the mulch & send it away

That's a cool story. I bet some bastard pinched the carb at some point thinking nobody would notice.
By the way, Neil (ausneil1) hates Husqvarna 2100's. He can't stand them. Worst saw on earth he reckons ;)

HINT: You'll never get rid of him now...[/QUOTE]

:eek:h:

Consigned to weekend chainsaw work when there is any, unfortunately. Plenty lined up for Spring onwards once it starts drying up though (just got to save the $ to fund all the gear I'll need - does it ever end?).

Even after many months of day-in, day-out use of the 241 it still puts a smile on my dial.

You can keep the expat Kiwi's mate. Word is out the Chinese are buying up all the land and homes on offer over here with their US$ so the expats are trying to get back before it's too late and they can't afford to buy back in. Going to be an interesting year or two, me thinks.

Might still be a dime a dozen over there but if anyone wants a nice 2100, I got offered it the other day in exchange for a day's work. It's a beaut saw that's not getting any use except on the few occasions I have used it over Summer (it just feels better on the big stuff than my 7900). I'm too worried about parts availability to bother grabbing it but if anyone wants me to chase it up, I'll see what $ he wants for it.

The Chinese are buying us out too mate. We'll be eating rice crackers soon as they'll own all our agricultural land.

Im the same, cant put it down.:D

Funny thing is, it's still a bit of a secret over here. People see this "barbie saw" and take a while to appreciate what it can do and also how good they could still be feeling at the end of a week's work with it compared to other saws. Sure, it ain't going to be productive felling medium to big wood but, thanks to Matt's recommendation, there isn't another saw I'd rather use for everything else. One day, I'll be able to afford another one and will play around with a few mods to this current one.

Sorry 'bout that.

It's not going anywhere - just gathering dust in a farmers shed. He's too old to be swinging something like that around and I know he'd be stoked to think it's going to someone who'll appreciate it. The stories it could tell. I think he has had (and cherished) it since new. On the big stuff, they are a joy to use. If I could be sure of parts for it for the next 10 years if needed, it'd already be in my shed. I'm still not used to that amount of low-down, smooth and scary torque. But I'd like to be.
