Sorry 'bout that.

It's not going anywhere - just gathering dust in a farmers shed. He's too old to be swinging something like that around and I know he'd be stoked to think it's going to someone who'll appreciate it. The stories it could tell. I think he has had (and cherished) it since new. On the big stuff, they are a joy to use. If I could be sure of parts for it for the next 10 years if needed, it'd already be in my shed. I'm still not used to that amount of low-down, smooth and scary torque. But I'd like to be.

It's very tempting for sure

I bought one of those newish Go Pro Hero 3 black cameras the other month and finally got around to trying it out with chainsaws. Good quality for something so small. Good little units and has a very wide angle too. You should be able to see me cutting in tracky dacks and Ugg boots. I didn't realise we were out of wood so quickly cut and split another wheelbarrow load...

It's not set on maximum resolution either. Unreal how high these things go actually. It's a wierd look from the head mount setup. I look 20' tall.

I've got the black. I have a mount on the bike helmet and on the dash. Yes the resolusion/picture quality is amazing. You can buy polarizing filters etc for them also. Any wonder they are replacing professional video cameras costing thousands of dollars. I've bought three aftermarket batteries and extra SD cards as you go through them pretty quick. They have had issues with the 64gig SD Sandisc cards packing it in, in the GoPro. They were blaming each other over the issues. So beware those purchasing cards. Don't know at this stage if the issues have solved.

You can keep the expat Kiwi's mate. Word is out the Chinese are buying up all the land and homes on offer over here with their US$ so the expats are trying to get back before it's too late and they can't afford to buy back in. Going to be an interesting year or two, me thinks.

you mean they're stuck here.................

g'day fellas ,haven't been around for a few days, cooked my laptop the other day ,some how I plugged the wrong supply cord in and pooof,no more worky, seems 48v wont run a 19v system,am currently on my 6 year old lappy with the hard drive from the newer one fitted up, seems like a fitting end considering I been putting up with no keyboard after spilling a cuppa over it for a year or so now, unless some one knows of a cheap fix for the power in ....................

Hmmm thats a tricky one Chris, desktop electronics are an easy fix but laptops not so much. Its all kind of wired in there. You could take it apart to see whats cooked inside, but its most likely the main circuit/motherboard and they aren't cheap. But you could be lucky and find a cheap used on on ebay. Might be time for a new lappy, they are reasonably cheap these days.

Sorry about that. If it's any consolation, plenty of Aussies have gotten wind of what's going on here and have started buying up before it gets totally out of control, so I suspect we'll see a few more Aussies coming this way too. They generally have a better attitude than the Kiwi's stranded in the 'lucky country' ;-)

no offence to the good kiwis here or your self bro but there seems to be a lot of bad eggs settling in au, they're on the news nearly every night, and not just from NZ

i just get pizzed off when people come here and just want to make trouble, there should be conditions when immigration is concerned(for all walks of life)they come here cause its bad in their home country and bring the fighting with them,f88koff back to where you come from sorry for the rant

I couldn't agree more mate. Every immigrant needs to have a 15 year good behaviour condition. Do anything worthy of a fine over a few hundy or any prison term, they can pissooorf back to where they came from (and their local assets/accounts frozen to pay for the court costs and plane ticket). If their family want to stay it's their call. If their family are dependants then they go with them. End of.

Don't like it, don't immigrate. If their country of origin won't guarantee to take 'em back if they are coming back as a result of breaching their 15 year good behaviour period, then they are refused entry at the border and put on the next plane out.
