So I am in the middle of working on my truck, doing a front end overhaul. I needed a spring gauge to measure preload on swivel bearings. I use to have a couple of my dads fishing ones, but they are gone. I dug out the last of his shooting stuff and found a new in box trigger pull gauge. That worked fine. I also found a RCBS de burring tool, Redding little kurnel powder trickler, Pacific scales, Mark scope sight tool and some other odds and ends.

Any one had any run ins with carlton A_-LM with the bumper link built into the drive link similar to 7_lpx? Can get some a1lm cheap but the issue of the bumper link causing a drop in performance has been bought up

Thoughts any one?

Hi ya Bennie
I can think of a reason why you would wont to use the bumper link type chain unless your getting it for free, you could allways grind them off.
I use a lot of Carlton chain but i beleave the RS Stihl is a better chain than the Carlton LM for me i dont know why but the RS seams smoother and self feeds better out of the box.

That's a fair size lump of wood , luckily you had a husky or you would still be cutting it....I had better stop now before the stihl fans hang me :p

Lol yeah theres a bit of firewood there, should be a good ute load I think.

In full chisel Stihl's RS is definitely better than Carlton's LM. No doubt about it :)

Good info Bob but I still don't think they are as involved with the SAS as you may have been led to believe. Who knows what the future holds but the internal SAS training is still current as far as I am aware.

Na we don't but have trained and exercised against them since the 70's ................ we just wait till they arrive then sap em ............. we ain't special forces but are trained to counter them ........... our fellas in Vietnam on the 9 Sqn choppers were tasked to insert and drag there sorry asses out often under fire had a few mates shot down just doing such .... most of my work in Vietnam was night ambushes where life go's from dull and boring to full on in seconds ....... our mustering have just received recognision at last after 40 odd years and been awarded the RAAF Ground Combat Badge
