Not surprised that your Triton shat itself Neil. The 2.5L versions are deadset pieces of crap.

Every Elders' agronomist I know with one has had major issues and I just heard that even Agronomists from an opposition company (Muirs) are having major issues and the owners of the company are now giving approval for guys to replace them with Rangers before their warranty has run out. Elders has now stated to our fleet company that they will never touch the Tritons again. Our options are now 3.2L Rangers or the new Colorados.
Having a good warranty is one thing but when a good agronomist is off the road it can seriously cost the company thousands of dollars a day and it has been too. You end up with guys who are on serious money sitting there twiddling their thumbs.
I'll be honest in saying that I would prefer a Great Wall over a new Triton and that's saying something :) In fact a little bit of vomit just came up in my mouth when I mentioned that! The older Tritons with the 3.2L Pajero motors were great.
Issues with the Tritons have been fuel related, major gearbox issues (a mate at Muirs had 3 gearboxes replaced by the time his Triton hit 70,000km), electrical problems, bits falling off the dash etc. Our broadacre agronomist has had his kick the traction control in numerous times at 110kph on the highway and limit the engine to 1000rpm. He then has to pull over, turn the ute off, and wait for it to reset. This has been a new issue for Bitsashit*y and he has been driving around in an old Holden Rodeo as a loan vehicle for 3 weeks waiting for parts from overseas. He just got approval from Fleet to get a new Colorado and ditch the Triton. He is a massive earner for Elders and this issue has deadset cost the company $30,000.

P.S. And I thought our D40 Navara was a lemon...

managed to catch up with Al and his tuff lil' patrol and his trusty side kick Axle the super hound. very nice bloke.

Uncle Al is a really good bloke. His Patrol with the 18" lift kit looks pretty tough too. I needed a ladder to get into it when I caught up with him a few years ago.
He actually builds a pretty mean ported saw for those that don't know.
Oh, and he puts up aerials and stuff as well.

I don't have to much to say about the triton but the d40 navara is a pos but the d22 is a boss

I would have a Great Wall over a.........................Pushbike! :D

Yes well perhaps I won't be trading to a GW just yet, but I will monitor the triton over the next 12 months or so, and will be disappointed if it starts major problems.
As I have said, the tritan has been good so far with no issues so far, I did receive a recall letter today regarding the front wish bone, I rang the service manager and he had already done whatever needed to be done, he also said a computer update was done as well. She is still in the workshop as the injector did not arrive today.
Thanks Matt for that news, I did not want to read that but id much rather it straight than not say anything.

I would like a dollar for every time I have been working and saw that or been caught off guard by that.
Nice pic.

Hey does anybody know how to multi quote with the new format?

hey MCW how the grain crops over that a way a going, from here seems to been a good season.

Average here mate. Most guys seem to be going around 1 - 1.2t/ha on wheat. Talking to a farmer last week who averaged (on his yield monitor in the header) 0.999t/ha last year and 0.998t/ha this year. Interestingly last year he had 77mm less rain during the growing season than this year (177mm vs. 100mm approx). Unfortunately we got really dry through August so the heads didn't fill out to well or had no grain at all.

Mate I am the world's biggest Nissan fan but that D40 I owned from new was a massive disappointment. We traded it at 120,000km and were very lucky we paid extra for the double factory warranty. Needed all new front brakes at 115,000km and have no doubt the clutch would have shat itself in the next few thousand kilometres (these are of course "wearable" items so we paid for this - $1500 for the bloody brakes alone and $3000 if a clutch goes!). We had huge fuel issues with it which weren't helped by the dipsh*t local Nissan dealers who didn't know sh*t from clay. Out of the 120,000km it had fueling issues for half that. If the issue didn't show up on the Nissan dealer's laptop they pretty well argued that it didn't exist. They ended up replacing all of the injectors (after having the whole fuel system out of it scratching their heads) and it ran OK after that despite being down on power and using 20% more diesel.
I was very happy to see the arse of it.

Funny thing is that a young bloke we know bought it. He wanted "big" spotlights on it so replaced the HID Hellas with a set of Lightforce 240's. I had to laugh as he's a typical young bloke and didn't realise that the Hellas will tan the Lightforces' arse by miles but the Lightforces "look" tougher!

Sorry to say that Neil but just be careful mate. The Tritons also need regular valve adjustment and one of the local Mitsubishi dealers got caught out recently charging for this during servicing but not actually doing it. A local Triton owner had top end noise and took it to another dealer in Adelaide. On closer inspection at 70,000km it had never had the rocker cover off it even though it was meant to have had the valve clearances adjusted 2 or 3 times.
As I found with our Navara the second it looks like it's going downhill get rid of it. Only bad things will follow and your wallet will get empty quick with newer 4WD diesel vehicles.

Just a quick one gents but as per earlier posts a few local farmers have asked me to come and whack emus and roos under permit. The crops are off now but these properties also have feral goats :)
Whacked a pretty solid bodied Billy 12 days ago with the .25/06 (black with shorter horns) and then whacked a hairier, stinkier Billy tonight after work with the .25/06 again. Both went down like they'd been hit in the head by Thor's hammer. The one I dropped tonight actually walked behind a decent sized bush and after catching a glimpse of white I let rip through the bush. I heard the thump and was actually quite surprised the projectile held together to reach him. The one good thing with the Ballistic Tips (I hit him with a 100 grainer) is that they have a solid base so do actually penetrate quite well even if the nose blows apart.
Nothing fancy but both goats were on the move and only 60-80m away. I also knocked over a nanny and 3 kids (goat kids, not real kids!) last week too.
Tracy and Zoe came out as well and Tracy wore some new Stihl earmuffs (Thanks Benny!) while holding her hands over Zoe's ears when I shot (I also got stuck into a heap of emus as well so she heard a fair few shots). Good thing was is that Zoe didn't mind the gunshots and had a wow of a time! Must be good genetics as Tracy likes shooting too.

Nah no different to the 500watters they replaced

A mate brought a new d40 and his die hard Nissan man. his had it maybe 12 months and his got a 4sale sticker on it its just cheese. But another mate has a d22 that the only time it gets driven is hunting trips and spot lighting and apart from a couple of split cv boots but its the older model with qd32 diesel

Bwahahaha!
