The council tree crew dropped a gum tree next door, the guy doing the cutting was using a stihl 362, he was doing ok until he started on the bigger wood.
I was waiting to collect the wood but he was taking forever, I asked him to leave the bigger wood for me to cut, he packed up in a hurry and left.

I finished it off with my mac pm 850, I hadn't used it for 18 months it needed a run, I did notice in the council truck that there was a stihl 660...why he didn't use it? who knows

Probly not passed out to use it,same as the guys that get to lean on a shovel, takes years of standing around doing nothing to be able advanceto leaning:D:D:D

It's the old school, last of the mechanically injected Landy diesels Rudi, all of 2.5 litres and 4 cylinders. (300Tdi)
The next model had the 5 cylinder, unit injected diesel.(TD5)

The army ones use the excellent Isuzu 4BD1 3.9 litre engine.
Slow as a wet week sans turbo, but are probably the toughest, most reliable smaller diesel ever made.

But the price there selling for at auction is just ******** but rivet counters will pay anything

The council bloke gets paid by the hr not what he get done.
The boss probably drove past latter and had a look what he had done, but he was down the pub,he must be loving you.

I don't mind, I was just happy to get the wood

Great to see you dressed up for that Wayne, that would be a fashion statement today especially if a cigar was on hand. We will wait and see the response from the Mattster on that.

Just had a thought ,,,, in a spot of negotiation with a NZ sawmilling manufacturer and saw this cheap milling toy in their line up, and wondered how would that Chinese 070 copy fair on one,,,, just maybe it would plug along ok or maybe it wont. Just a little thought for today.

Neil, I think we should find out.. you buy that cheap milling toy and I'll send you my Chinese 070 powerhead.
I have no plans to use it again and it will free up some shelf space for REAL saws :)

Ok, here is a vid Jake Peterson has put up on U tube on that chainsaw powered mill.

Here is the mill I am currently in negotiation with, still looking at the other manufacturer, ( Sawmills NZ) as they have a top mill they will spec to my requirements and I have already bought 2 new mills from them and they are still working. The new Turbo swing blade will need to be good to win my purchase over the fully hydraulic twin blade Mahoe.
