Yes well, I can do mods and improve performance but cannot perform miracles, so looks like the 70 copy fails yet again.

Put it this way Neil...

I gave that 070 to Wayne for free yet still didn't sleep for a week because I felt so sorry for him. In fact he probably thought I hated his guts. I actually should have paid him $500 to take it. I've seen a few copies over time but this one was a shocker.

That weekend warrior sawmill also got my attention Neil. Very simple to build, but the adjusting at both ends could cause some inaccuracies. Would be great for a "weekend warrior" though.

Let me know what you think of the Turbo Saw, it seems a nice bit of kit now that they have gone all electronic. Huge swing blade too, but I think there is an option for dual blade.

yes, I get the picture,,, just as well Matt, just imagine a fake copy trying to perform like the original legend, which I might add is still as popular today even tho they are no longer'' the ''saw.
wonder if them there chi-nee blokes will ever try and copy John Wayne.

looking at getting a stihl hedger.. just cant make up my mind petrol or battery v36 ? :(
any ideas please!
As Matt said, go petrol. My reasons would be a good quality hedger in petrol will last many many years. The battery will be the thing to die in the 36v. The usual is that repacking isn't as good as original and its bloody costly anyway. Also, by the time the battery dies, the shape will have changed and the new ones won't fit.

a petrol hedger has been purchased. test run this weekend as the hedges are getting out of control! ta fellas.;)

No problem, It's in the isolation ward.....my second smaller shed :)

Oh dear,,,,,,, not the ''OTHER'' shed,,,,,, that's where saws go to die and be forgotten for ever.

Anyway I cut up a large-ish mango tree today with my bread knife, (25cc Ozito, given to me by my neighbour not going). Well I did need to spend some time getting the thing going and a chain actually cutting wood. Now that it starts without fuss and cuts like it should,,, we lowered this turp mango from 1st limb to the top via a long extension ladder.
Ozito progress report,,,,, Its no 200T, but if that's the only saw going it will do the job ok, well it did for me anyway on this 1 occasion.

I never had much luck with Ozito's I could get them running but not reliably, I kept the coils and binned the rest.
I do have a Ozito 240V hedge trimmer...It starts every time :)

I've done a few and get them running real good, decent plug, new fuel lines and a carb kit is a must, the chinese carbs come with poorly made/material thats not suited to any type of fuels

I agree, I think with some toying it will become a lot better. The very 1st thing I noticed is how restricted the air flow is, the exhaust is no better. I do realise why they are like that, but I think its worth some attention, if only to help it breath. I would not bother touching the cyl, I only want to help the poor thing run a little better.

So, does anyone know what Mr. Eric 'Ekka' Frei did with his saws? Who knows what's up with our old buddy? Has he and his BFF Lopa started another gig together, somewhere?

bloody pissed off!

Ive just been striping down a 1984 Husky 266 SE that is all original and in dirty but VGC. Only thing giving me any grief is the flywheel. Prior to this saw I have only ever had one flywheel give me trouble, and that was a 272xp and it ended up snapping in half! So im being more cautious with this one. I have the genuine Husky flywheel removeal tool. Well it isnt budging and the main flat plate (5-6mm) of the puller is bending. Not too fazed about that, Ill draw one up and get it laser cut in 10mm. Anyway, I turn to grab another spanner from my roll cab and the bloody crank case rolls off the work bench to land on the concrete floor. Cracked and bent the rear left corner just below the choke handle! Really, REALLY pisses me off!. Wasnt near the edge either, a good 150-200mm from it before it rolled off. Such a shame, whilst it wasnt NIB it was complete and original and would have come up very nice
