Serg, my old kart engine builder had some solvent that he would lower a cylinder or head into and it would come out clean, no carbon at all, and you can imagine how nicely carboned up castor makes a head.

Wish I could recall what it was, it was in a 20l drum and a proprietary solvent (and probably banned these days.)

Sounds like the old pickle that we are not allowed to use any more. Gasket stripper will eat carbon just be careful

There used to be a product call Carbsol in either an aerosol or bulk pack I used it when I used it at the Ford dealership Felton Motors in Cessnock .... it was pretty good just hang the item in with a bit of wire and 30 minutes later beautiful

Yup no longer available I believe made ppl starting 3 eyed baby's and **** like that

I know my mates 22 hornet was doing the same thing same weight pills but different brands and all shot very different . I did 3 loads one load was max load for bm2 powder for a 53gr pill but I was loading 52 gr pills It shot **** and pancaked the primers. Another load was the starting load for a 53 gr pill and it was ok 24 gr of bm2. Last and most accurate load was way under loaded at 22.5 gr of bm2 to get just under an inch at 100 I think was bloody good for a feather weight light barrel zastava . The pills were all sierra 52 gr matchkings

I gather your 22.5-24gns of BM2 etc isn't for the .22 Hornet but a .223" or similar?

3 eyed babies make good money if you run a circus :)

You'd be surprised what they find with some agricultural pesticides that are still registered for use overseas. There are a whole heap of fancy terms such as teratogenic, mutagenic etc etc.

Because humans have a lot of carbon in them it probably didn't do you any good :)
There are a few agricultural organosilicone penetrants used in herbicides that are designed to break down waxes (and fats and oils). You should see what they do to your skin...

Yeah .223 might have trouble with that load in a hornet. I loaded some more last night and boosted it up to 23gr ile only use that load for field rifle comps over Xmas ile put it on paper at 200 and see how it goes as sitting post is shot as 200m. Loaded up some 55 gr ballistic tips to road test

And we are eating it through all the imported Chinese **** food

Phew :) I though you may have been using a 50 tonne press to get that much BM2 in a Hornet case!
I loaded 200 x .25/06 cases last night based on an AR2209 load I used from about 15 years ago. I hope my memory on that load is as good as I think it is or I'll be pulling 199 projectiles...

50 grains max with a 100 grain pill will be all good.

That's your problem all right Matty 2,,,, VB,,,, I will say no more.

Bloody hot on the job today, good for the heart, feel sorry for those poor ac dwellers in that office.

got the epoxy out of the big end, well enough at least. Did the final pour this afternoon, will need to be chucked up in a lath and faced off. Next have to decide whether to run the 266 cylinder or the 272. The 266 has a nice small cc by the looks. Ill have to measure both to make sure its not just a visual thing.
