I should ask Matty 2, just what are you going to reload and how often are you going to reload.
I am guessing when you actually start doing reloading you will not be sinking VB cans.

Was just doing some load development for the 223 and found a load that shot real well when by rights it shouldn't. Have

And allways have a beer while loading its thirsty work

Funny how things work dont work out with the reloaded ammo eg.
Explain this. .270WSM
Bottom left group was with factory Winchester Supreme 130 grain Combined Technology Ballistic Silver tips at 3255 fps.
Other groups with 130 grain Combined Technology Ballistic Silver tips at same seating depth as factory's.

68 grains of Win 780 (left group)
3189
3185
3179 fps

68.5 grains (right group)
3212
3226
3210

69 grains (center group)
3267
3258
3261

So same projectile, very similar velocity's only difference is factory's compared to reloads and a different impact point explain that ?.

I know my mates 22 hornet was doing the same thing same weight pills but different brands and all shot very different . I did 3 loads one load was max load for bm2 powder for a 53gr pill but I was loading 52 gr pills It shot **** and pancaked the primers. Another load was the starting load for a 53 gr pill and it was ok 24 gr of bm2. Last and most accurate load was way under loaded at 22.5 gr of bm2 to get just under an inch at 100 I think was bloody good for a feather weight light barrel zastava . The pills were all sierra 52 gr matchkings

the bits you want are available at any husky shop, those same bits are currently in use with the 395 model husky, they won't cost you much new.

New brass will change it I would think. I'm useing Norma for working out the loads but I use a combo of the norma and adi brass for hunting both are very good

Barrel harmonics as mentioned mate. No different to pulling the same velocity with the same pill yet using different powders. I find that with my T3 in .25/06 using the same 100gn projectile at the same velocity yet using AR2213SC and AR2209. Both powders shoot to a slightly different POI in the T3 yet not in the 700BDL-DM. I've gone back to using AR2209 instead of AR2213SC because I can buy 2209 in 4kg containers and get it 20% cheaper than buying 2213SC in 500gm containers. I can also use 6gn less per load for the same performance :) Damn this shooting to a budget...

Out of interest I emailed two gun shops in Adelaide for pricing on the same reloading gear last week. SARA came in about 15% cheaper than the Adelaide Gun Shop. That added up to about $200! Primers, projectiles, and powder. I ordered 1500 of those newish 50gn Hornady Z-Max in .224" ($19.70/100) so will be keen to see how they go in the .222
