Its mostly easy and not concern but the odds against must be stacking up. And today i spanked down a tricky removal. A volunteer job for a not for profit group. It went well a tad hard so happy thou sore once done.

$130 a tonne split and delivered. My work has a certified weighbridge only 4 minutes away so I use that to verify. In all honesty it's probably a bit cheap but I'm not in it to become an overnight millionaire. It's just a bit of pocket money for me.

yeah i'm not splitting or delivering it anymore , just blocking up dead trees and dumping them on the log dump ,pick up load yourself from the farm gate deal

I don't do much and don't advertise. Finished splitting the last of my wood pile today and did my last delivery. Have about 3 tonne left for a rainy day.

Has anyone tried importing saws from North America? Ebay had multiple saw at half price or better, even including delivery. A 362 could be had for $400, a good condition 660 delivered for $700 or so. Considering they are secondhand, and in my eyes not much different from second hand within Australia, I guess I'm wondering: why not?

Did ya get the splitter fixed?

Yeah Rudy. It broke where the vertical/horizontal pivot pin goes. It's actually not really a load point but was very weak. Welded some 4mm strap on it as bracing and all good.
She seems to be losing a bit of grunt lately and I'm wondering whether there is some wear in the pump or something. The oil is all good and the engine is holding rpm so not sure.

Im just flooging it off instead of pile burning it ,pays for fuel and oils plus a little extra cash on the farm

Do it all the time. As long as you keep the value under AUD $1000 you'll avoid import duties and GST.

Hmmm yeah, being a chinese hydraulic system the pump would be your weakest link most likely. They run on very fine tolerances etc. But the good thing is they are reasonably universal so if it does die you could just just replace it with something better quality preferably from overseas - you will pay and arm and a leg for a pump here in Oz.

Now if only I knew a decent engineer to discuss pumps with :)
