Well it gets better. I found a better parts saw to send you.
The fuel tank is in good shape and has a good fan cover cover.
No piston or cylinder on this one too but you did not need those parts.
I should have this on its way to you tomorrow.

Cliff thats incredible. Ill owe you a little more than just shipping on that one! Thanks so much, this is great. If you werent so far away, id buy you a beer or two.

Damn, I shoulda kept that C-7 if I'da known there was that one available. :bang:
Hope you have fun with that when you're done. I'm excited to see/hear it run again. Congrats Mark!

got my sears d49 running this weekend. that thing has an attitude for an old saw. happened to be running it after dark and the dang muffler got red hot, as in glowing. i shut it down real quicklike. since i never run saws after dark i didn't know if that's abnormal or not. gonna go back and check the carb settings again before i crank it up again. i had originally set them both at 1 turn out but gonna check nonetheless. checked the plug and its a nice light brown color. go figure. funny thing is its an 80cc with a 17" RN bar and 0.325 chain. methinks thats not anywhere near OE. anyone got any comments or suggestions? man, i like those old mag saws.

...A Homie C5 starter is the place to look for the small bits...

i've got a spare C5 starter. problem is it came with the spring broken about 1 - 2" from the inside end. i bent it to fit the slot but didn't heat it. haven't used it since so can't vouch for if it will stay working for long since i got a replacement. still haven't gotten the saw up and running yet; still acquiring parts.

were you the one needing starter parts? you want it?

Not anymore but thanks.

Hit the BIN on an evilbay PL-4 complete recoil starter (free shipping), a recoil spring, and 46mm x 1.5mm rings for my PL-4 parts saw. (The cylinder/piston are excellent or I wouldn't have messed with it.)

Pic of my SL-4 completed and run tested coming next.

Thanks Jeff!

Carl.

I have a Mac 450 I just acquired. Missing the clutch cover, muffler, starter and some other stuff. It has a nice front handle, compression, good piston and cylinder, carb and box looks clean. Needs cleaned, couple parts, fuel system service and will probably run.

I'm in Seattle on business and don't want to ship it home.... somebody need something from it, preferable the whole thing?

post a pic when you can, I think I have the parts.

The SL-4A has a borrowed recoil on him untill the evilbay spring gets here. The SL-10A is from a fine gentleman in Indianna who runs an 'Adopt an Orphan Chainsaw' program.

i would say it Lancaster

Anybody know what this is? I'm thinking Remington. There are no decals on it. Can I find a clutch cover for it? It has good compression and spark. I just need to rebuild the carb.

Oops, big pics.

I would say it Lancaster but could be wrong i don't think it is a mono but it is a Tecumseh/Power Products engine.

Quick question.

Is 30 bucks plus shipping a good deal on a MAC 3-25? or am i better off without it? It has no bar, and im not sure if it even turns over. I want the saw to restore and get running, but parts look hard to find, and pain to work on....I figured this is the place to ask.

That bar mount setup looks a lot like the deal on my Wards/Hoffco 480.

All you need is to saw out a block of 3/8"-1/2" aluminum and drill clearence holes for the studs. Use a swatch of flat roofing tin for the cover.

SL-5 missing recoil/carb engine is free

Homelite XL-102 this is almost enough parts to build two saws. 1 saw has been painted and ready to assemble with new decals. was a project started but never finnished

Assorted carcasses. Skil is a 1629 and complete, Mac D-30, had running with shot thru carb. This is an original that missed the recall for the oiler update. It has no oiler, just uses crankcase pressure. Mac had a recall on this model to add a manual oiler, but this saw never got it. pioneer 1200, was running, but low compression, an IEL RA, saw has good compression. Assortment of remington stuff

I also have assorted Remington parts, mostly for the PL/SL series. Like the rest of us here, these parts appeared as extras that accompanied other saw deals. If you see anything of interest, PM me and I'll try to answer any questions you might have. I'm looking to trade these parts, but $$ will work.
Looking for:
Felling dawg for Homelite 20MCS
Mall 2MG parts: airfilter cap, Spark Plug rubber cover,
Pioneer 610 felling dawg
Mac 99 control handle parts
Want to trade saws? Will trade the RA for mall/ Homelite project-open to all offers on any of the saws

"Assortment of remington stuff."

I keep having visions of a packing crate with 4 x 4 sleepers for fork truck handling. Have a Yellow Freight or USF Dugan terminal near you? That may be a better option than numerous boxes thru the mail.

Blondie would never hold still for it......................................................

Lombard Comango

Quick question for ya...

The plug wire on my Comango has gone gummy where it sits next to the cylinder. I still get enough spark to light the saw up, but I was wondering if there was a way (twist on/twist off?) to simply change the plug wire?

Thanks
