We talked for about half an hour. We talked quite a bit about chainsaws. His father and him cut and sell a lot of firewood. I'm normally pretty good at judging people, and he seemed authentic, not like he was full of BS. He was very apologetic about not getting the saws out right away, and understood that we were upset about the whole situation. He is married after all, but she still has her maiden name on her ebay registration. They have kids, and both work different shifts at Chrysler, so the other can watch the kids. Between working during the day, cutting firewood, watching his kids, and maybe being a little bit of a procrastinator, he evidently let a day or two turn into a week or two. I explained that the biggest complaint I have is that it was so difficult to contact him. They had just recently moved into his grandparents old house (which explains the old couple who were listed at their address). I have not found any inconsistancy in the variuos explanations and the work I did to locate them. I'm going to relax a little about it, but not completely until there's a saw on my porch!

I told him when I get the saw, I will close the paypal complaint and work with them to withdraw the negative feedback. Cross your fingers!

Fingers are crossed amigo. But I'd still be primed to go after him for this. If he's too busy to take care of the winning bidder, he should mention that. I've seen other sellers mention that in their item description, that it might take two weeks to ship, or that they only ship on Fridays or whatever. I hope he's being straight with you on this, because alot of guys will sit behind a nice exterior and B.S. their way out of things. And I think we've established that you've been put out by this transaction. Don't forget that there's a neutral feedback as well. I certainly wouldn't add to this guy's positive feedback rating after what's happened. And if you leave the neg. feedback, remember he can reply to that and explain his side, and that wouldn't add to his positive feedback either. I'm just thinking about the next guy who wants to buy a saw off of him. Nice guy or not, this transaction has been a pain in your a$$ and needs to be documented, and him held accountable. But you yourself sound like an honest, good natured guy, and this world needs more of that, so if you forgive him, then we will too.

Take care all,
Jeff

Finally got around to looking at this thread, and I just have to ask. How much
did the saw sell for? Was it gold plated and signed by Elvis?

Sorry, just a little curious...... No one likes getting screwed, but I have
this instigator clause in my contract...........

Fish, close. It's a Dolmar :p

Sorry, couldn't resist that one.

I now have a tracking number :blob2:

Might see the saw yet this week.

Just for others experience using EBAY

I started looking at a saw on EBAY that I thought I could use as a parts saw to fix one I had on hand that needed the right side casing(this was about 2 weeks ago). Well it was described as a "great runner and needed nothing ready to go and you can check my feedback for my honesty and I dont sell junk" yeah, yeah. Well, that convinced me to go for it and put more than I initially wanted to. Especially after I emailed him with questions and they all came back positive. I outbid everyone else for it, not gonna say I WON it.

Well, got the saw and the same rt. side casing I initially wanted it for was broken. He already assurred me saw was all intact, no issues. Carb area looked like a pack rat had hauled saw chips in by the wheel barrel load. So I emailed the guy and stated that I was dissappointed and would have to leave negative feedback because he had either overlooked the broken area or failed to mention it. Did so with good grammer and not flaming him or hostile. He emailed back and asked if I would like some refund back. I said ok. So saw cost me 1/3 less and I left positive feedback saying we worked thru an oversight. He left me positive saying he appreciated working thru his mistake. All honest and neat. Anyways, have JB Welded broken casing and seems to be holding. Saw needs more saw dust removal but seems to work good now.

I buy alot of saws off Ebay Whoes the Seller first of All and second check your invoice you should of received and see if it has the tracking number .
Ive had item arrive late but the reason was understandable with the death of a family member but i did receive the item just real late .If the seller has good feedback then something probley happened that was out of his controll and UPS isnt the easiest on freight they delivered one saw and instead of bringing it to my door they left it outon the edge of the driveway and it got eaten by the snowplow ,Hence i called UPS and told them and they said they always deliver to he door then i told them idhave my Dad call them and discuss it and that he could be reached at ADAM & Grail Civil Litigation Minneapolis Minnesota ,Gee they decided maybe it be better to discuss the matter and settle it quickly so they paid me 300.00 for a saw i bought off Ebay for 50.00 (250.00 Mental Duress I really wanted that Saw and was totally heartbroken to learn of its Demise ) another words give it time then tell them your Uncles a lawyer If they dont make Good just make sure you get the right guy when you swing your AX! oyea My fathers not a lawyer But i love those Yellow pages :)

I pretty much stole it, put it that way. Piston/cylinder are very good. Needed minor repairs, and a chain break assembly.
