This saw came to me as 2 torn down 353s in a box. I managed to get one of them working well. This one came to me without a seal on the PTO side. I ordered some 353 seals on ebay (aftermarket) but they seem wrong. It will fit snugly( think) around the crankshaft but there's a big gap at the outer race of the bearing? Are my seals wrong or is something strange about that bearing. ThoughtsIMG_5267.jpegIMG_5269.PNG?

Ohhhhhhhhhh... just noticed...... half the bearing pocket looks gone!

You will need to find a right-hand crankcase half. The crankshaft will most likely never stay in place.

Yikes... look like I need a distraction. Ladies and gentleman, Mr. Conway Twitty...

I guess that’s why it was in a box. Whoops 😬
For future reference- you tend not to pit new oil seals on top of bearings where the balls of said bearing are no longer evenly spaced- and that is before even mentioning the buggered up case bearing pocket. ;)
I thought it looked a little funny 😬
