Why are flippy caps hated?

Heck, Husky might even bite on the idea!

I would say that someone will sooner or later. Seems it would be easy to do and would work well. It works good in my mind anyways.

Can you imagine, just pop the flippy up, turn the cap and pull it out. Screw it back down, snap the flippy back in place and cut wood. All it nees is a hinge in the middle, made of metal for toughness, and a lip at the edge for it to snap down.

I think we're on to something here.

Lol get er patented it sure sounds like a winner:clap:

The only way you can break a flippy cap is by forcing it, end of story. You've got to be ham-fisted to break one. The flippy breakers are either forcing the handle when the cap has already been turned to full lock before actually being plugged in, (twist it back before you plug it in) or they're forcing it because debris has caused it to stall when you're half-way thru turning it.

Either way, the flippy breakers are doing it all wrong, and building the whole damn thing out of hi-tensile steel or titanium ain't gonna be of any help to them, they'll just end up trashing the plug hole instead. The flippy breakers SHOULD actually stay with screw caps for their own convenience

The non flippy breakers don't do a full days work in two years. They have not put enough miles on their saw to see a flippy break. They are most generally weekend warriors that will clean and polish 4 hours to cut 10 minutes you non flippy breakers are something may as well stick with them flippy's so your wrists stay limp:laugh:

:agree2: The more you use them the worse they seem work.

I will agree with that also, they do start squeaking and getting stiff after awhile. I've had the 260 for 4-5 years and they are like that. But they do still work. I figure one will go sooner or later though. Then I'll be shucking the 8 bux out for another one!

I have not actually broken one yet but ohhhhhhh how I've wanted to lol. I have the problem that they don't want to come out and have to wiggle the lever several times and it finally comes out. Some don't want too seat I don't care its a bad product that should not have made it through quality control imho.

Strange, I use a flippy cap 200T all day, 5 days a week, year after year, re-filling every half hour, would clock up more hours in a month than the flippy breakers would do in a lifetime, but I've NEVER EVER EVER broken a flippy cap.... they just keep on keeping on... Strange.... wonder why that is? Could it be that maybe, just maybe, I know it's hard to believe, but maybe it's because some people out there might just know how to operate a flippy cap properly? cackle cackle

I tell you what, my 200 t is toast in 8 months. I finally tried to kit the carb to no avail so I delved off into it further to find the crank bearings failed which was shorting the coil. I have several stihls but will NEVER buy one again there are better alternatives than defective equipment inho.

You got it! I don't know how to use them, yup that's it you figured it out.:monkey::monkey:

dangit rope! I'm sure glad you didn't sell it to me when I made you a fair offer!

I'll go 100 shipped for that parts saw now. Includes a new Stihl hat from me to lessen the sting.

I know of some RM employees that hammer on Stihl FS110's and cannot kill them. My Stihl guy recommends them because he can't believe they are so bullet proof in the hands of teenagers working a summer job. No flippy cap issues on em either;)

Haven't used Stihl in some time, but I remember donkey dinking around with those stupid flippy caps and even broke one once. They wouldn't seat and fell out, I hated them and wore alot of bar lube because of them. Husky seems to have better fluid caps than Stihl, I find after many years of using both brands.

Lol going to rebuild it prolly,or make a funny video of me smashing the sob with a maul. Btw the 192 stihl works good and I have a 110 and a combi I like them even the flippy crap but the 110 needs a new shaft too many users on it! Buddies clearing shooting lanes lol.

Ok, but can you sell me a flippy cap. I get the feeling I might need a spare in 32 years or so when one might go bad on mine. If I have a spare flippy then i can safely say I have no reason to ever own another pos huckavarna :)

Or, how bout this; I'll trade you a flippy cap for a brand new but busted carb off a 357 that husky will not warranty even though they know its a garbage carb... see all my flippy caps and all my Stihl saws work. Bought one new husky and it #### the bed even after seeing way less use than my Stihls.
