Ok, but can you sell me a flippy cap. I get the feeling I might need a spare in 32 years or so when one might go bad on mine. If I have a spare flippy then i can safely say I have no reason to ever own another pos huckavarna :)

Or, how bout this; I'll trade you a flippy cap for a brand new but busted carb off a 357 that husky will not warranty even though they know its a garbage carb... see all my flippy caps and all my Stihl saws work. Bought one new husky and it #### the bed even after seeing way less use than my Stihls.

I have more ethic's than to sell defective equipment bro so I will not sell you the flippy. PS: how did the carb get busted off I don't think warranty covers abuse?

I tell you what, my 200 t is toast in 8 months. I finally tried to kit the carb to no avail so I delved off into it further to find the crank bearings failed which was shorting the coil. I have several stihls but will NEVER buy one again there are better alternatives than defective equipment inho.

Dang Rope, you should have taken up the offer from Ole Thall like I told ya. Quit yer yankin and sent it to Tommy ; I am sure he'll take care of it, probably on the sole condition that you stop moaning about them flippy caps....:hmm3grin2orange:

See, I fix it myself with no conditions place upon me. I don't really think I want to fork out the dough for parts, I will look into how much the parts are going to be and decide if I want to repair it of get the new Jonny reb. PS: thall is a good chap but see I can't help but point to obvious design flaws when I see them. The flippy though it works does not work well and imho was a poor solution to a non-problematic function. In my extreme experience with chainsaws the screwy wins out but I know how to properly tighten a cap too:monkey:

I used them constantly when i was on my work experience. Brushcutters, hedgecutter, long reach tools, and fueling up saws for the tree surgeons. I personally have no problem wit them, they can be arkward at times but overall i like them.

Ok, here's a good example.
Just got the 2010 Madsen's catalog today and on the cover was a professional logger notching out a mammoth doug fir with a Stihl 084. Now obviously they could have used an MS880 in that picture but they didn't.

I think all the flippy cap haters appreciate Stihl's high quality saws, but realize how the flippy cap detracts from the overall quality. That's all.

That's a fair assessment.

I got $50 that says the 084 user isn't using it for the screw caps.:monkey: That would be like me saying he is using a Stihl 'cause the rev limited 3120 fat hog can't cut itself out of a wet paper bag.:D You guys are unreal, LOL.:dizzy:

That's kinda like saying you love BMWs but believe their complicated door locks compromise quality. Uh. Hmmm.

Say what, Rope you better stick to tree work and let someone that knows how to work on saws work on saws. A failed crank bearing is shorting out the coil, good grief Rope next you'll be saying the muffler is causing the chain to stop,LOLOL

Tom there is enough slop that the flywheel is contacting the coil terminals! I pushed side to side and there is noticeable movement! I thought at first it was going to be the impulse line but it did not leak and noticed the slop! It prolly is leaking air past the bearings as well but was looking for simple on an 8 month saw forget simple. I am sure your a better mechanic Tom I however can repair this saw but I really don't feel its worth parts.

The 200T has needle crank bearings Rope, some side to side play is normal with that type of bearing. Now I know you didn't know that so send me that saw so I can get you back up in the tree and far away from the work bench, hahahahaha

Oh I fogot to tell ya Rope, if that saw is only 8 months old I can probably get it covered under warranty. Just did a 390 that was 6 months out of warranty. Can't beat them cats at Stihl I tell ya,hehe

Ok, come clean the carbs on my Suzuki and I'll give you a 200T, talk about a nitemare, those Japs must have tiny hands, how they get the carbs on and off is a mystery to me,grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I am going to do a vac pressure test on the case then Tom if it does not leak it will surprise me. I think there is more slop than your thinking Tom. The cylinder looked fine but these things are the dirtiest sog's I have seen. They collect dirt more that any saw I have seen. I do know the flywheel was contacting the coil. I will find the culprit if the case is not leaking I will put in a new fuel line but could not see them going bad so fast and no noticeable leaks. The carb itself may be bad but I think its going to be the case seals.
