No Redline your right. I do not have a copy of the standards and cannot find what I need online but they do state that safety glasses of the wrap around type or with side attachments are to be worn when operating a chainsaw. A mesh visor or glasses may be worn but not as a substitute for safety glasses.

Redline and I are talking about the WCB (Workers Compensation Board) of British Columbia, Canada. Different country, different rules, ANSI and OSHA do not apply here. Some rules are the same, some more stringent, some less so. For example, an ISA utility certification means nothing here, you have to have a Provincial trade certificate to work around high voltage.

If your safety glasses have side shields drill several small holes in the shields it will greatly help with the fog.

I've always got a bit overheated in raingear, so I skip it and double-time my work in winter - it keeps me warm.

As for the wet, if I work hard, I tend to focus hard enough on the task to basically ingore the rain. It's cross between ignore and endure.

If we bust a$$, we can trim a 7 hour day down into 5 hours.

I wear a sweatshirt over a t-shirt with vest over. After about a half hour, I shed the sweatshirt and put the vest over the t-shirt.

My body heat is enough to put steam off from my arms.

When I was a bit younger, like 10 years ago, I had a laugh one day, as I turned my head and saw a steam vapor trail coming off my clothes when it was real cold out.

I can take the cold and rain any day over the summer. I always disliked summer heat, even when I was a child.
