Any one in Minnesota do a gtg? I was thinking about having one.

I am looking forward to having some folks over to my place and running some saws. I have a lot of wood to play with, red oak and a bunch of poplar logs for racing. I also have a good sized red oak in the back that we could cut down, maybe some others as well. I haven't been on AS for very long and I don't know if this is a normal year or not but I noticed there has been a lot of gtg this year. I was almost going to postpone mine but said to heck with it. I have been to a couple gtg now and they are a blast. If anyone had any other good ideas for things to do at a gtg just post up.

Or you could just schedule it for racing Saturday at the fair and GTG later that day and the next.

I think we could work something to combine them both also. It's only half hour from grantsburg to harris if that. I've got a double check the date on the fair yet tho.

Ahem...Hedgerow... maybe next year we can combine the 2. Unless you hate gtgs, beer, demo Derby's,saw racing, beer, truck & tractor pulls, more beer...and if your nice we'll let you win and have a trophy, like we do for Scott. ;)

SOoooooo. Assuming we're still on for September 22 & 23 of 2012, thought I'd start taking roll call... I stopped into the AmericInn tonight to get a quote for rooms- tried to beat a discount out of em- shoulda brought a bigger chainsaw... $99/night for their standard 2 queen room for anyone planning to camp at a hotel. Camping is welcome- we've got more than enough yard space for tents or campers or trucks or whatever, plus we do have an RV if someone wants to stay in it.

Going back the the beginning, here's what I saw... Please correct at will:

Also got a couple neighbors & friends who want to see what all this crazy chainsawin's all about..

OOPs!
I just remembered there was another hotel in North Branch - and it might be cheaper... Course, I guess you get what you pay for - never been in either one of em, but there is also a Budget Host in North branch - it's within a couple blocks of the Americinn, and their standard 1 bed room runs $69. The standard room @ Americinn they quoted me was $99- but had 2 Queen beds... So I guess make your selections if you're not camping...

Budget Host: (651) 243-5155
Americinn: (651) 674-8627

Both are 6.4 miles and 10-12 minutes drive from our house.
