Any one in Minnesota do a gtg? I was thinking about having one.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM Bacon... I made the cutest little bacon & eggs this morning. Seriously. they were actually cute. little tiny sized fresh eggs from my mom's new egg layers and the most darling little cuts of bacon I've ever seen.. And as with all bacon and eggs, yes. it was delicious.
:kilt:
I'll put a pic up in a little while...

Of course I am joking, I am not sure how many folks are coming yet. Feel free to bring along a sample of your pork and we shall enjoy it. As the date draws nearer we should have a better head count.

Bacon. How much bacon? A big rash, please, a big rash of bacon.
I'll bring enough for 3-4 rashes.

Do you have enough wood for cutting cookies? I can't bring big logs (no way to trailer one), but I have a bunch of decent diameter 1.5+yr old seasoned black ash chunks we could slice up. They're bucked into sub 2' lengths though.

I have a very large pile of red oak logs from 8"-32" diameter, a hole bunch of poplar logs for racing in, some pine logs, and maybe I might get a few of the left over pine cants from the chainsaw races at the fair in Grantsburg. I think I got plenty of wood but thanks for the offering.

Newbies Welcome?

Man ... I'm 30 minutes south of you down near Isanti. Will you guys tolerate a complete and total newbie running around asking completely newbie questions?? Seriously, I bought my first chainsaw after those July storms last year. We had just moved here in May.

I have a few acres of woods back there and am starting to research milling. There are a few big ones that still have to come down due to storm damage. There is one huge oak on the ground still as i have not got to it yet. It sure seems sensless to turn some of these into firewood.

Seeing this stuff first hand would be awsome!

I believe you are more than welcome. These are really good folks putting this on and attending.

If you can...do it...you will have a ball. This will be my first get together and I am excited. You will have a ton of fun and may even learn quite a bit.

What kind of chainsaw did you get? What kind of milling? Chainsaw milling? I have been thinking I need to make me a chainsaw mill myself. I wanted to build one this year but I have been very busy, installing a new outdoor wood boiler, going to gtgs, working on pontoon, you know fun things. Yes, do definately try to come to the gtg the more the merrier. A word of caution... Once you run some of these ported saws you will be hooked. The rabbit hole is deep and you are standing on the edge looking down in it.

How cool that post #1 was on this thread. Extra pie and bacon for you, young man.
