What kind of chainsaw did you get? What kind of milling? Chainsaw milling? I have been thinking I need to make me a chainsaw mill myself. I wanted to build one this year but I have been very busy, installing a new outdoor wood boiler, going to gtgs, working on pontoon, you know fun things. Yes, do definately try to come to the gtg the more the merrier. A word of caution... Once you run some of these ported saws you will be hooked. The rabbit hole is deep and you are standing on the edge looking down in it.

I bought a Stihl 290. I bought the brand, honestly, knowing they have a good rep. I also wanted something from one of the local stores that support their products and do maintenance and for all of them around here that is Stihl.

I can't afford a band saw mill, yet. So, chain saw milling it is for me. Although, as Im researching I'm realizing my 290 probably won't cut it. What a shame ... I might have to buy another saw.
