that same devil had the SOLO 681 canceled/discontinued because it made a mockery of Stihl and was in direct conflict with the Dolmar 7900 since it was built off of it's design
I have a Dolmar 7900 its heavier than the 500. Who would win a race with a 24in bar?

That's called 'Bait and Switch' advertising...........
No, it's not. The regular carb saws can have the c designation as well. Has nothing to do with mtronics. Heck my old ms192tc is carbed. T for top handle c for comfort frestures. Absolutely nothing to do with mtronic. The 400's proper nomenclature is a ms400c-m just the same as any other stihl saw. No c, no comfort features. For whatever reason they don't have the m on the starter cover.

the carb is adulterated with on the 400c

Now - direct FI on the 500i is a different beast all together which sounds GREAT

Yeah, cause we haven't seen any issues with that system either. 🙄 they have plenty of issues with that fuel system too. Just three times more expensive to fix. And it's not direct injection, its port injection.

Right - which is why after considering a 500i it was quickly rejected with knowing = 'costly problems ahead'

problems with straight carbs are a easy inexpensive fix and they are very reliable when using the correct/fresh fuel

what i do know is the power of a SOLO 681 and i was not impressed watching the 500i cutting
Do you have both of these saws to make this judgement or just going of uncontrolled videos? Cause I have a Dolmar 7900
