Very nice score Gary.

Is that the saw that was in the listing posted in the "I saw it on ebay/CL" thread a few days ago? Can't remember where that one was located, but it looked about as nice as your 'new' saw.

Picked up this 540 off Craigslist in Indiana this morning.

I was just in Indiana, my friends dad wanted to pick it up. I told him to ask quick as he could. I guess he didnt. It was right up the road from him. :(

Aaron,

Since I don't frequent the e-Bay/Craigslist thread, I can't answer that question. However, I am surprised that the saw was still unsold after 13 days on CL.

As far as I know the local guy in Southern Indiana and I were the only ones that expressed any interest. Fortunately for me the first guy didn't have his money lined up to be able to pull the trigger.

Once I get my other one repaired I will have a nice duo.

Waiting on the mailman to arrive on Monday as there should be yellow and green Poulans for me.

Was it around spencer/poland area? Thats the one i am talkin about.

Found it Gary. Different state, different listing.

Homelite Chainsaw

Actually same state, different saw. Though the saw was listed on the Louisville CL the seller was in Southern Indiana, first exit off I-65 probably less than a mile from the Ohio River. Don't know about the one up in Spencer, though I was trying to dig up another big Homie up that way.

I need a set of crank seals for a SXL 925. I ordered a set based on size and got some all rubber garbage......

How did that old Homelite make it into Pioneer country?

Yep, it's slow. I'm just relieved my old 26LCS wasn't messing with me.

Fascinating saws.

As promised... Homelite 2000 came today and it's nice!! Paint is really good in most spots, you can still read some of the directions on the tank. Needs some cleaning and a fuel system service, ran on a prime the first pull and almost broke my arm!! Was used to mill a few trees and has sat for near 15 years now.

Nice roller bar and decent chain with it. After she's running, I'll put a video up.

what mount? will a DO(^ bar fit an old ez6?

Do you mean a D096 mount bar Kimble? Don't hold down the shift key while typing numbers. Had to look at my keys to figure out what bar you meant.:D

Do not use a D096/D196 (or UXL/TXL) mount bar on a large frame Homelite. Stud slot size is the same, and the adjuster will sometimes work (or can be made to work).......but it's a bad idea. The tail profile of the bar is too small and will cause the chain to dig into the bar plates and/or clutch cover or bar mount pad. The oiler hole on the XL mount (D096/D196/etc) bars is too close to centerline as well. You need an old Oregon F014 mount bar. Here's the Acres listing for that mount. You can see the other manufacturer's code for it (GB, Windsor, etc).

Bar Mount Pattern: 16

This is the D096/D196/etc mount (wrong one for large frame Homelites) that you mentioned.

You need a bar for your EZ-6? I could probably hook you up with something. Could hand one off to your BIL when I pick up those parts at his place of business in SR.
