Your basic later production SXL-AO. 58cc. Auto and manual oilers. Probably electronic ignition. Homelite/Walbro SDC carb or possibly a Zama C2. Could tell a bit more with some 'side views'. Chug away.

Got a new to me Wiz and I've got a question; should this saw only be run on 16:1 w/30 wt. oil only or could it be run on 32:1 with modern 2 stroke oil? It's probaly just going be used at gtg's the most. Came with a real nice loop of Oregon 1/2" semi-chisel chain. It runs but still needs some TLC yet.

Its a Homelite 5-30 very nice saw hears mine

Thanks for looking guys and for the info. He's the same guy who traded a VI922 and two Super Mini's for repairing his 3400.
He had thought he pitched this one out years ago. I am assuming it was his Dad's saw as were the other three he traded.
I don't know what he wants to do with it yet. I see it's missing the cylinder cover.
Joe, your stuff always looks stunning. Definitely chainsaw eye candy.
If I could get this saw I think I'll mount it on the hood of the wife's car (Summers only).

5-30n?

A friend found this in his shed.

Would this be a 5-30? Just guessing from what's on Acres' site.

Hi Tim
agree on the 5-30 family...but I think 5-30N.
From what I have read...5-30 is pressurized fuel tank and the 5-30N is a normal/later carb with a impulse driven fuel pump.
I don't see the same fittings on the top of pix tank like my 5-30.
Others may know more or for sure.

Ignition line

Hey guys, repairing my dads 240.

I am needing the line that runs from the coil to the kill switch. Is this piece able to be made? if so what pieces (clips and wire) would I need, or what is the actual part number. I have the service manual, but no number or anything is listed for this small yet important part.

Just replace fuel line, filter, and cleaned up the coil start cover, cylinder fins, etc.

Getting a good spark when jumping it with a piece of small speaker wire, but need to do it right so it will run.

Any suggestions, or an IPL that would have the numbers I need?
