and cut some wood.
I did call the lady I was thinking of. She said yes she could use wood as she figures she has about six weeks worth left. so four weeks away til our cut. she will be worrying. and we will make her day.Hopefully.

I did 20 years as a Volunteer fireman

It made me feel good to be a giver.
I get satisfaction just in the expression on folks face when you do a good deed for them.
Now don't get me wrong, at 2 am when they are screaming it has been forty five minutes since we called.(which in fact it was more like 12) Time seems to fly while you are waiting on a firetruck or bambulance huh?
I would tell em I think 12 minutes is pretty good seeing how I was asleep in a nice warm bed..I woke up got dressed drove the 3 miles to the station got a truck and drove two miles here... They get our point pretty quick

Hopefully you will have that woods ported saw

Like to see how much of an improvement over a stock saw it gives..
We will have plenty of wood to cut.

There someplace to park an in-truck camper for the night in case the coldies get flowing in the afternoon? My cuttin' bud and I are considering it, would bring:

Poulan XXV w/12" ("Simon Special")
John Deere 91 w/14"
Stihl MS170 w 14"
Remington Super 754 w/18"
Stihl MS290 w/18"
Poulan Pro 295 W/20"
Stihl MS460 w/28"
Mall 1mg
Stihl 044
55 Rancher
Little Homelite
Pioneer P26?
Husky 350?
Files, tach, misc support stuff.

Now, how to bring this up to dear, sweet wifey...?

not a problem

I have 20 amp service . not rv 30 will that do for you?
I have two travel trailers and a truck camper.. you would just "blend in"

4-5 hour trip each way for me... just a wee bit too far. I expect too see a good selection of pictures from the event posted tho... don't forget to toss the digital cameras onto the front seat on the way out.

and five miles east of Martinsville. and a mile south of Cope
heck everyone can come, Bring your saws and plan on having a good time.
If anyone is planning on a long drive there are a few name brand hotels in Martinsville.

Best western, holiday inn express, and a super 8..

Where are you at? mile south of cope would be around conservation club road or old morgantown?

Hoping the ground will freeze

lets just hope it will freeze up. I am going to try to get some trees drug our to a staging area, so we won't have to take pretty trucks out into the woods.
I have a five acre alfalfa field out behind my house.. I am planning to have several tops out there so we can cut and race a bit.

Who's going from OHIO.

240 miles from my part of ohio, so figure close to 500 mile RT. Might think again about it if someone near wanted to go 50/50 on roundtrip and share driving. My beast only gets 10 mpg and no cap.

More the better.

the effort is going to a good cause. Not to mention all the beans and cornbread one can eat.
Plus what a better way to spend a day , smelling two stroke mix. and watching chips fly
