Ran the 346 a good while today, and I couldn't be more pleased with how it runs. I've read several posts questioning this saw, but man mine runs like a scalded dog.
Granted it slows down a bit when you sink it into something more than 16" in diameter, but keep things below 14" and you can't hardly blink before the lumber drops. On the other hand I often run it with a 20" bar and it handles it pretty well. It's a little much if you sink it, especially if you start to force it, but if you keep the revs up it's probably faster than going for the bigger saw for a a few large cuts.
About the only thing I can think that would be a benefit is to have an internal clutch. I love how on the 372 the bar and chain remove so easily to change out the chain or bar. Running with a 16" bar with 95VP is a pure joy!
Scary fast.
