1-76?

Lol, it's going to supply parts for my 790. (tank, handle, etc.)

Will definitely save the engine for another project later... it's actually got a little bit of compression. Not that much, but probably runnable and cutting worthy.

Oooo... I'm getting excited!!!

What is your schedule next Friday (22 July)? I will be coming back through on my way north from Memphis.

Mark

What a coincidence. I will be driving through there late Friday or Saturday.

Mark is definitely one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and a trip through the Mac Museum is something to put on your bucket list.

here's to Mark, the man who always kick starts this thread,

Mark

Just arrived today, McCulloch 1-76 from the great Pacific NW. This was a CL find identified in this thread and acquired through the assistance of Farley9N. It was a participant of the PNW GTG even though I couldn't make it and has now made it home.

I will have to track down the bar tomorrow as it shipped separately and didn't arrive at the same time as the power head. The chain with the saw is .404/.058, Square ground semi-skip. I guess that's just about as unique as they come today.

Enjoy!

This one had the air filter cover from a Super 797 so I went ahead and swapped it with the one from a 1-76 I picked up a while back. As you can see, the muffler was pretty bad so I went ahead and replaced it with an old round one I had on hand. I would really like to find a few of the old rectangular mufflers if there are any out there just to try and keep some of these older saws in a more original condition.

I stood behind RM when he ran that saw...Didn't slow down one bit in the cut all eyes were watch'n nice yellow iron Mark. Too funny I had my Super 55A kill'n wood last night at the ranch...congrats on the 1-76 it almost made the bed of my truck:hmm3grin2orange:

Thanks - The bar arrived today so tonight I can swap them around and put the other back up on the wall for now.

I may get a chance to put this one in some wood on Saturday as I will be heading back down to Dysart, IA hit by a massive wind storm early Monday morning. My younger son is headed to Vinton, IA later today to help clean up around his wife's Grandmother's place. Hot, humid weather is returning so it should be a lot of fun!

I still need to find a 1-75 and then I will have the whole 1-7X family on hand. Rather interesting, a few years ago when I "found" my first SP125 I casually asked if he had any other saws for sale and ended up with a 450 and 1-71. I already had a 300 and 380 at home and thought it would be fun to try and find all of the models...little did I know...

NW iowa heat index over 100. All you have to do is walk outside and you are dripping in sweat.

Keep the fluids going down.

I will be passing back through on Friday morning, not sure of the timing yet.

I will carry the parts along with me just in case we can get together. If not, I will send them out on Monday, 25 July.

I have your phone, you have mine, let's try to talk and see what will work best.

Well guys, I met CPR (Charles) at a local Tractor/Truck/Semi Truck pull... I got there and saw the show... It was awesome... clouds and clouds of black smoke blotting out the evening sun... best way to say "#### you, EPA!!!" All of that diesel smoke surrounded us crowd fellers, and kept them skeeters and bugs the hell away from us. I love that feature... :D

Oh, sweet trucks there... one was a 541 Cube BBF powered 70's F-250 or 350... it hauled ass with that sled... Had to have a tunnel ram intake, since the hood was about 6" tall in the middle, where there were two slots to let air in.

A couple of the Dodge Cummins trucks had the right headlight removed and an intake tube straight to the turbo... one had a stack right out of the hood... that one really made some smoke...

Our favorite Semi was the cabover Peterbilt... that thing hauled ass all the way to the 300 and something mark... badass...

Favorite tractor... well all of the IH's, of course... :D

Okay, the main reason I am posting here is to tell you is the guy is real nice. Also, I got my 1-76 parts saw from him today too, so I now have just about everything I need, and when I do get to tear that parts saw down, and organize the tins, etc. and figure out what I want sandblasted and painted, then I will likely have the 790 cylinder bored while I'm busy messing around with the tins.

Oh man, this saw will be fricking awesome!!! :blob2: Trust me guys, you will be in for a treat when I finally finish her...

Also, if anyone can help me out with a 3' or longer roller nose bar, I'd appreciate that. Some help with chain would be nice too... will have to figure out the size, definitely will post some pics tomorrow of the spur drums so we all (or I) can hopefully figure out the pitch.

Geez, where was I? I was thinking of something else, but forgot...

Oh, also some updates of random non-chainsaw stuff may be included in my post(s) tomorrow. Please don't smack me for it...

Thanks for the kind words. It was a pleasure for me as well. I'm only sorry we didn't have longer to chat. As it was, I rolled up to the house at 1:45am...

Too bad the Dodges couldn't keep Tomac's Chevy honest. Not sure what's up with Rotman's green one, Glover cracked an injector line for the second time this year on his grey one...

We both have a ton of wrenching to do, but it'll be good to get together this fall and run them. It's going to take me a bit, they compensate me nicely for hanging under those black clouds. Glad you enjoyed the program. I've got over load next week. All day Wed. & Thur. at the MSU Ag. Expo pulls and Wed. and Sat. nights for the TTPA at Caro... plus a day job, kids, etc...

We will definitely get to runs some saws together... there is no doubt about that.

I will be doing everything I can to convince my parents to call a load of logs in, and specifically ask for big ones too...

These big cube saws will be worth all of the distraction and not working on them because of work, other more critical projects, etc.

The 101's will be a bundle of fun... that's for sure.

Like I said before, patience is a virtue... it may take longer than some of you are used to, but I will get my 790 roaring, and CPR will get his karts saws going, and we will both go out and kick some tree ass.

Picked up a couple saws today as I drove through the countryside toward home, took the picture as I drove in the driveway. Nice 1-70 in the middle, good compression. 450 in the back, looks abused, missing a bunch of parts but has compression when I spin the flywheel. Stihl 07 on the bottom with a roller bar and a Homelite 900D in the back. Not sure but I think it's trying to give the cold shoulder to the others and then the BIG DADDY on the left. Missing the starter, almost bit me when I rolled it over with my fingers, won't do that again.
