You can make a really handy portable pump out of those. Thats what I would do. RC boats are cool I had a 1 horse 16000rpm nitro vee hull it did 50mph on radar. The weedwacker boats are usually watercooled so you would need a kit to convert it for that purpose. I found that hobby to be very very expensive!

How do you read the tach when its going 50mph? Thats about 75kph for you aussies......


I thought there was way too much plumbing untill I read that it had a clutch.

Put an aircraft radio in it pronto! trust me you run out of range quick at those speeds with a surface radio. It is illegal but no one has to know or will know what type of radio is in it. I learned that one the hard way I found my boat beached about 5 miles away after it left the radio's range. Surface radio range 300-400 feet aircraft radio 1-2 mile range there are expeptions but that is what you should get. That was a good price for that boat. The boat I had ran about that to build but the nitro boats are expensive to run $26.00 for one litre of fuel. The zenoah engines are the best you can get.

The gas is a dumas 48" SCARAB hull, with a Shinny 22cc engine that has been custom water cooled by yours truly. The boat will do 45-50 on the pipe, but its more fun without it as you can play more without flipping it.....

Heres the guts.......

The orange boat is my hopped up "Super Hawaii". This boat is an electric boat and runs 44mph with 14.4V power. Motor and driveline are top secret.(Dewalt drill motor) On plane it will run for 7min before you run out of juice, Ive only run it flat out 1 time without flipping it or winding up backwards. FUN!



These are Robbe "Prinzess" Hulls, one stock with the outboard and one with Jet drive!


Stock drive with modified motor....35mph. 8min runs.

Jet drive, 27mph, (@ 14.4V) needs only 1" of water to run! Lots of fun shooting the mini rapids in the local creeks! Only 4.5min run time.

Did I mention that these hulls are 30 years old?


Check the "70's" glitter boat decor....

I don't have any pics of the one I had it was a kyosho jetstream 1000 kit. I used the exhaust to pressurize the fuel tank. I ported and polished the engine and found the right prop for it after some trial and error. I ran 30 percent NITRO fuel. I was going to convert it to a surface prop just before I sold it to a friend. Makes me want another one. I know of at least two chainsaw powered boats in my area. hmmmm

(1) Hook it up to a really small car and win one of those gas mileage races they have out in the S.W. desert where they race to see who's car gets the best gas mileage.

(2) Make an ultralight model airplane out of it for use by our boys over in beautiful Baghdad. Paint it up with some really bright orange Husqvarna/Stihl paint, and tune the mufflers so it really buzzes loudly. They can fly it over the houses of the bad guys and drive them nuts.

(3) Give it to the person in the forum who has the best suggestion.
