Your 655 is more than welcome here, after all its basically a P62.That's a nice looking saw. The piston and rings are still available new. They run about $75 for the piston/w rings.
Not exactly cheap, but a small price to pay to get a saw like that in top shape again.

Is that for a boost port piston? There differnt are they not between the 62 and the 655?

I don't know just asking.

All I know is from the looks of Jasons saw, that $75 is well worth making it live again after running the one Chris had the other day.

Larry, can I call you Larry? Lawrence is alot to type out for me.. LOL

Yes I know that there are alot of part there, and I have just about decided to just keep the P-41's for myself and let you guys have first crack at the rest.

The one P-41 is scored and the other is good, so it looks like the scored one will be parted out for the others. The P-50 needs its top handle for one thing.

The other stuff I just need to get to look over closer and decide what to do then. I don't really want to just offer up pieces in general as I will just be left with the junk to dispose of myself. Maybe better in lots...

Dont want to step on any toes, just keep me in mind...interested in p 28's as well....thanks guys

Modified Mark

Heh! I thought I was the only one having typing troubles here.I was out of school long before computers made there way into them. But I guess there was typing and I never took that course.Hmmmmm! What courses did I take anyway.Mark Larry is fine by me I got called Larry later in my working day's as everyone seems to naturally think if your name is Lawrence they can shorten it to Larry. My uncle who I was named after,he was always called Larry. But yes you can call me Larry, all my friends mostly do.Any of you other guy's feel the need go ahead.

Lawrence, or is that Larry? LOL!

i could live with $75. is there anyone on here that can get them or can u point me somewhere? no one in the south here ever seen one for real. thanks jnl
Heres the link to get the piston/rings. You can call them and tell them what your looking for, they are SUPER helpful there. http://www.rottmansales.com/

They have/had all the pistons there. The P62 is different from the 655's. The 655 has a smaller pin. The 655BP has a cut out on the side for the boost port. The P series also used two different ring thicknesses.

P65 Parts

Just a heads up fellows. There is a fellow selling Target (Pioneer) parts on ebay. The listings are for a 65 14. Same as a P65. He has a cylinder kit but the ring set part number is for a P62 or older. Several other nos parts as well. The stuff is not overpriced. The cylinder kit is Ebay # 330407443552.
Just a heads up I don't need any of these items.

Checking compression

Hey Pioneer guys, got a question.

How is the best way to check compression on a p-28 with easy arc, without tearing it apart to disable it?

I wasn't thinking at first and cranked and cranked on one till it dawned pretty quickly on me that it wont build compression without disableing the decomp.

I did crank it to 75lbs that way though. LOL.

Got to tear quite a bit apart to remove the muffler to inspect also don't you?

If the P28 is like my P25 I think you can get the muffler off just by removing the bottom sheet metal shroud (5 screws) then you will see the two muffler bolts. To disable the comp you just pop the rewind off and take the two tiny screws out that are holding the bent wire under a small flat spring. Then put the rewind back on.

If it's like my P25...

Yup ,theres a little wire thing in the recoil that pushes the decomp when you pull the rope. Just take the recoil off ,Mark, you'll figure it out.

655

JNL502, that 655 is a treasure. My friends and I all have one, they are legend. Do whatever it takes to get that thing running and I guarantee you'll love it. Make sure you get the carb set up right, because it may have been cooked by too lean a setting. Rottman's should have your parts. If not there are other sources, I think.

Hi;
Welcome to the site, you came to the right place for help with Pioneer saws. The P40 is a 66cc or3.97 cu in. As for parts I will leave that for some of the others that have some parts that they may want to part with.

The 1120 is a runner:)

I got an 1110 parts saw from egay hoping the primer would be good....

And it is a good one:jawdrop: Put it in the 1120 and primed it third pull it fired up and ran good.

Got ready to go put in some wood and it was raining cats and dogs.

So I hope to get a cut or two in tonight and tune it in a little.

This baby sounds gooood. No muffler mod needed:chainsaw:

The filter in the link that Brian sent might not fit the P26. It is for most models of P20, P21 and P25. The P26, P28 and 1074 will most likely take a different one, it's larger with a molded rubber surround.
