Haha, CAD. Guess Pioneer collection is next, then branch in to Sachs Dolmars.

How hard is it to run across the P-50s?

I know Ive seen quite a few P-40s, and I know the P-60s are sought after.

I did see a P-50 at the shop, but it dissappeared to the techs house, and then he says somebody stole it

If you find one LP, sent it home to me. I hate it when my saws get lost.

I know how it is, they keep on sneakin the door around here too. Lost count a long time ago, can`t find time to even clean up the newcombers.

Haha, I was just about burnt out on saws. Had to take a break

Yes Jerry, that P52 Plus is one-of-a-kind. I never had the heart to start it up. Since I get to see pics of it from time to time, I really don't miss it too much. It's been adopted, that's all. I know it's in good hands.

I understand,.. I also will not start it up, it has been adopted and I hope it has a long healthy life here. I was using it as a little eye candy to attract more Pioneer fans, such as little possum who I fondly call ,LP. ...We can always use more Pioneer fans and collectors.

Well... we woke up to 7" of snow here yesterday morning....

Along with piles of branches on the ground. Some were 6" in diameter and 15' long... So I figured it would be good to get out the 1073, and stetch her legs....

The chain on it was dull, but I figured it would be alright just to make 2 cuts get the branckes in to manageable pieces.... So I get up on my neighbours roof, to cut one of the big silver maple branches that landed on her roof.... and.... no. wouldn't even make it part way through... :censored:

So phoned a stihl dealer in town and he said he could make me a chain (tough to find a 3/8 .050 53 link)

Come home, put it on and wow! she cut like butter... A real nice saw for this kind of work! Not too heavy and the 14" bar makes manuevering easy.

These saws were sure built well. As old as it is, it was in the shed, -2 out, a few pulls and she purred like a kitten. Pretty impressive for a saw of its age, with nothing done to it over the years!

If only they still built things like that...

1073 is a good old saw. The fixed H carbs were built by someone who should have been beaten severely, but once you get them sorted out they work well.

The air cover is mint, and the rest of the saw is clean considering it's age. Check out the top of page 262 of this thred, there are some pics of it....

And yes, there are still goats on the roof. :)

Hey you didn't scratch that label off did ya!

I too have a couple of Pioneers,..funny thing is that even if they sit for many years they will start up with just a couple of pulls once fresh fuel is put in the tank. Good to hear another member has a good running Pioneer.

After looking around here a bit I think I need to get a Pioneer into the stable out there.

Yes, you do. I recommend the P-40 on up to the P62 models. They're serious pro saws from a better era and are way too much fun to run.

I posted this in the swap meet as well, but this is the Pioneer thread, lol. I'm looking for a chain brake handle and some brake parts as well. Any help would be most appreciated.

Chainbrake parts can be hard to come by, PM me and let me know what you need. I might have it.
