Hey guys,
After getting rid of my 1200 on the christmas thread I didn't think I would be back here real soon but.... I just got a running P52 in the mail today. Going to clean it up and post pics later. Got it for $100! It looks good but not nearly as good as the P41 above!

Cheers
Nate

I am in the middle of a full rebuild of a PIONEER 2270. I have all the parts i need, and a pdf copy of the shop service manual. The one spec I do not see listed is crankshaft endplay and axial? play. Does anyone know, are have access to these two specs? I am trying to make this a long lasting rebuild, so I am going over everything. Maybe, I am being to thorough, but this saw will be a gift to my Dad, as it is the same model as his dad used for a number of years. Thanks in advance, for any info, or guidance

Thanks Hydrodog !! And Pioneerguy600 !!

He posted the CL ad for this saw , I had to jump through a few hoops to get it , but I just got it today ! My buddy Jerry sent me a PM telling me to get over to the Pioneer thread QUICK ! LOL He knew I was after one of these saws ever since I seen a pic of his ! Bout 2 years ago !! LOL

Haven't cleaned it up yet, this is how it came. Should clean up real nice !

Needs just a couple small things, muffler bolt,I should have ? Fuel cap threads are messed up,choke rod is bent and the hard part I bet? The knob for the oil pump. Brake handle is a little bent , but I can fix that easy I think.

Thanks again guys !! Rep the **** out of them for me ! :D

Very happy you got it since you wanted one so badly. We will find the parts that are missing to make it whole again.

Waited 2 years to find one,I can wait a little longer to run it. LOL

Thank god you got one, I don't have to hide mine under the bed anymore. I got a choke rod, a muffler bolt and a fuel cap. Send me your address.

And if you find a knob for the oiler, I need one too.

I gave up looking for those knobs a long time ago but I found that a short piece of vacumn hose works(about 3/8 inch long) push it down to just above flush. Doesn't look right but makes it a lot easier on your thumb.

That would be way easier on my thumb ! LOL

Thinking I may be able to make some kind of knob on a lathe ? Aluminum maybe ? Set screw to hold it on ? Big enough to go easy on the thumb too ! I have some thick hard nylon that may work ?

My dad has an old pioneer 450 in mint condition. (it still has original chain, and original factory spare still in its bag) He said he would give it to me IF I can fix the fuel pump. When he got it at a car show and swap meet, the fuel pump gasket was mostly disolved. He tried to make a new one, and it kind of works if you tip the saw at the correct angle and hold your mouth right. If I can find the proper gasket, it will be mine. I am sure one of you can point me in the right direction.
