Funny thing - when I'm using an automatic only oiler my thumb is always looking for the manual pump plunger,Lol.

Matthew,I found one cup,all I need to do is take some measurements.I think I have a cup from a Super 754 that may work, just gotta find it.It'll need to have new scoring done to the inside of it though.

I have a lot of bar & chain info from Charles (Classec) from the Homelite forum.A lot of bars & chains (as well as saw parts i.e.Fairbanks-Morse starters, will interchange with Remington parts. The F-M starter pawl assembly is a direct fit from the C series saws (Homelite)..

Matthew, the crap I had to go through to get a measurement was unbelievable. The battery in my calipers was dead & I had a helluva time getting it out to put a new one in.I was able to measure the cup I found & it's not deep enough.I've got more to measure though.

Edju1958, thanks for taking the time to help out, I appreciate it. It seems like most Remingtons had shallow cups. From pictures online I think the bantam types had a similar cup to mine.

Got some more photos of my 770 today before I take it apart again to do the crank bearing. You can see the exhaust has a plate welded across it, presumably to quieten it down. When I got it the plate directed the exhaust directly into the bottom handle brace, so I cut and bent it to direct the exhaust out a bit. The Allen bolt on the carb is because one of the bolts was stripped out and I had to tap it to a bigger size. The bolt holding the oil pump bracket is broken off, it was like that when I got it, I have the bracket so I'll probably drill out that bolt sometime, but the nut in the end of the pump seems to hold it in fine.

Cool saw, that bar is nice. It only has 2 holes in it. All my Remy bars are Swiss cheese with 8 holes I think.

I think it's an NRD but not sure. I can't find a pictures of a 660 cup on the internet to see if they are the same as the 770. I think I might try machining my own starter cup.
Does that chip replace the points on the saw?

Yes but I made my own harness, there was no points in the saw, I bought it for parts but I turned it into a runner. I can check dimensions on 660 cup this weekend.

Get rid of that exhaust deflector, originally it was an open exhaust or just a screen .
That kind of restriction is definitely going to hurt not only performance but also carbon up the inside of the cylinder.
