Nice resto, Chris . I envy the patience and steady hand it takes to properly paint a saw.

I tried rattle can painting a couple of guitar bodies, but the humidity here in Houston made it slow going; waiting a few days between coats drove me crazy.

Chris, got the elbow, thanks!
While I had this apart, I wanted to reseal the oiler plunger. The pump cup is pretty worn - anyone have an idea where I can get one? For now, I cut a circle from a thick piece of neoprene and mounted it on the shaft - will see how it works later.

This might not be useful, but here goes,

I've had good luck finding "oddball" bits & pieces at a local True Value hardware store that has been around for over 60 years. If it isn't out on the floor, they have cabinets full of old misc "stuff" in the warehouse.

Can't help you exactly, but try searching for 'piston cup seal'. That part looks like what you'd find in a floor jack pump.

What are the measurements?

Chris B.

I ran the Wards 5.0" last week noodling some 30" pine blocks. After maybe a half hour went to check the fuel ad found the tank in a rolling boil. Fastened the cap and set it in the shade. Outside temp in the mid sixties.
May try him again today. Temp around forty.

Pay no attention to that Jonsered.

Hey now! No  for Jonsered?

Truth bet told, if I had to pick a saw out of my pile to run/cut all day, it would be the 670 Super.

Excellent choice. I have a complete one than ran the last time I used it (don't ask how long ago :(, my Wicked Work Saw 2171 kind of pushed the 670 aside), and enough 625/630/670 parts to put together at least one, maybe two.

Back on track....Running a saw with the fuel boiling sounds scary, even though it was/is common with some older saws. Not something I'd care to experience.

Looks very much like an SL-9 http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-ANT...123761?hash=item33b0989cf1:g:9IEAAOSwGotWpp6C
Someone went off the deep end. But, there is no explainin' some Deere collectors.

Judging from the stack exhaust and bar oil tank it is a JD-12 or 14..

This was listed in chainsaw parts: http://www.ebay.com/itm/131712114530?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Modified Mark alerted me to it or it would have gone no bids at all. Yikes.

Another 82cc Remy added to the pile for just twenty bux.
