Well, I looked further into the pruning of the eucalyptus stands...

It appears a small company contracts to prune them and engages subbies to do the work.

They are paying $1.00/tree for the first lift, which means anything you can reach by hand from the ground. The second lift they weren't sure what they'd be paying.

But here's the catch. It all must be done by hand, nothing motorised allowed as they are worried that the trees may be damaged.

Now I've done a little bit of pruning in my time and a good day going flat knacker would have me doing 200-250 trees/day, and I'd be stuffed....

The sums don't add up unfortunately.

Seriously?
I don't know chippy, but I wouldn't accuse Matt of taking Australia front wheel drive.

Lol.

The other side of the coin is it must be profitable. Taking on an apprentice must be good for business otherwise it wouldn't make sense to invest my time and money training anyone. That's the risk you carry, but most apprentices understand the situation and are happy to get the little they do in return for teaching them your trade.

Everyone needs a start somewhere in life, and if they're anything like me, I needed quite a few starts before finding my groove.

Did you see the interview that started all that ****? The bloke has no idea

Yeah I did, that's what frustrates me the most, people with no idea calling for change. Guessing most of the top cops are just media spokesman. On another note guy up my way had his guns stolen plus 1000s of rounds....guy said coppers think it's a targeted attack. That's why I don't have a Facebook account in my name. Guys like all these shooting pages etc and post stuff for sale, not hard to track down their residence. I even get ****** if people post a pic of my car at home. But I guess that's why I have a 12gauge security system

Bit of info needed.....putting a toolbox on the front of the trailer and just wondering if anyone can give me the overall length of an MS661 with a 36" bar and scabbard on.......the same combo on the MS461 is 1340mm or there abouts but I want it large enough to fit the 661 combo just in case I decide to get one.

Searched all the Stihl info and manuals and I can't even find a length on the powerhead.

Lol. Yeah.

That's where I put my saws in the cruiser mostly on top of an old suit protector thingy that's oil and petrol resistant but I figured it would only be a matter of time till something goes wrong big time...fuel and oil containers on the floor....driver with smoke hanging out of his big mouth
