he got a new part smashed with the bench hammer too easy,,, welding alloy an impossible trick none can do it every one know that
Yeah but i wouldn't of thought he had the bit that broke off. If he did then easy enough to weld back in but building up and grinding back would be a monster job with something that thin to start with!!! [emoji15]

Another project found it's way home with me today [emoji2]

I coupla sticks of ally and a TIG welder, a couple of burrs , an air grinder and a bead blast booth [emoji4][emoji106]

It's all weld.

It's from this saw. They used a P clip off the handle to hold the top cover.

Bloody good job Vince, well done. [emoji106] [emoji106] [emoji106] I can appreciate the work in that. We used to have to weld up ally car cylinder heads that had either coroded away or had bits broken off and machine/grind them back. Hardest part is welding the dirty ally!

Thanks mate. Yeah you hit the nail on the head!! Welding dirty ally is impossible.

Nice work! looks factory..
Anyone here repair stripped out spark plug holes? well not fully stripped out plug vibrates loose in say half a tank . I have a strong running (tinkered with by me) old 066 cylinder in need of repair, runs really well too good to throw in the scrap pile I've not run the saw in a few years now kind of miss the old girl :chainsaw:...

Have a look around on the internets, from memory you can get spark plug thread repair kits. I have heard that helicoils can sometimes leak a bit. There have been quite a few discussions over it here on AS, for and against.
